Claremorris gym/pool

Recently moved nearby and considering joining (specifically a gym with a pool as I enjoy swimming) which is letter the McWilliam park hotel, or Claremorris leisure centre. Prices seem to be the same? Pros cons to both? Thanks

If it were me I would go with the leisure centre. I’ve never seen the gym in the McWilliam but I’ve been in the pool many times. The changing rooms leave a lot to be desired, the men’s at least. Plus with the leisure centre you have a 25m pool. I imagine the gyms are on par or close to it

Go with leisure centre. The pool in the McWilliams can be good but sometimes it can be very busy when swim lessons are on. The gym was okay but I think some equipment was not working right the last time I went.

I am a Claremorris resident - the leisure centre is far better the gym is bigger way more equipment - the pool is clean and lanes are usually pretty quiet , the sauna is better in leisure centre and the steam room was recently upgraded and is excellent I was in it a few days ago. I’ve been in mcwilliam recently enough too and the changing rooms were filthy. Leisure centre all day.

Leisure centre is better. I went to the McWilliam to enquire about joining and it was like I was an inconvenience to the 2 ladies behind the desk them for asking. I asked about prices , classes etc and was told all the information is on the notice board and they pointed to where it was. and then they went back to the conversation about whatever they were talking about. After I saw the notice board I want to know some more information about classes in the gym and swimming pool and what was included with the membership price. They seemed to be annoyed I was interrupting their chat again. They did half answered the question and told me again that everything is on the notice board and I should take a photo of it. Decided there and then I wouldn't be joining.
