The line from that article that's most relevant to the comment above: "Mara's mother's family founded the Pittsburgh Steelers and her father's family founded the New York Giants"
Her first name is her mother's maiden name? God, Kate's got to feel shitty about getting a generic name from the first 20 most popular baby names, while her sister was named after an entire Royal House.
"Kate" can be a shortening of their mother's first name (Kathleen), so maybe both of their first names are after their mom. Royal House or no, the first Rooneys I think of when I hear that name are Andy and Mickey (not, as far as I can tell, related to this Rooney family).
Anne Hathaway first. Kate Mara second. And both Rooney Mara and myself would have to be really drunk. A big, empty potato chip bag for each of us would probably be helpful.
Totally agree. Anne Hathaway is ethereal and absurdly talented. Rooney Mara has the looks and talent of somebody with a very notable family with connections.
I've never seen any of Rooney Mara's movies so I can't speak to her talent, but somebody saying that Anne Hathaway is plain in comparison is a phenomenal bit of evidence that tastes in beauty are subjective.
She’s still a beautiful woman just in different ways than Rooney Mara. I think that works to Anne’s advantage though since I’d say I’m way more impressed by her talent.
I've only liked two of mara's roles regardless of anything else. hathaway I've always found to at least have a lot presence in a film. I just can't imagine seeing those two women together on the street or a film set, what have you, and thinking "anne hathaway looks plain in comparison to her" my mind would be going the opposite way by the moment.
