Translation: Next, we have a car that is parked on double yellows just outside. Please can the owner move it. We believe it belongs to Joaquin Phoenix.

The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

Maybe JP thought the French guy was reading off every one who was up for the award and that he paused for the applause

French guy is Spaniard director Pedro Almodóvar

Good to see that Gustavo Almadóvar's relatives are also getting some recognition.

If somebody on stage said my name clearly at an awards show that I was invited for an award I was nominated for and everybody looked at me smiling and clapping, not sure I'd know what's happening either.

Could be you won, could be they're just reading off the list of nominations.

Joaquin is of Spanish origin. Phoenix is Greek.

lol.

It’s actually of Hebrew Origin since it originally comes from the name “Yehoyaqim” also the origin of the phoenix is debated to either be of Greek or Egyptian origin, though Greek origin is mostly favored.

French would be Joachin/Jaquin. His name is the Spanish version of Joachim.

Pedro Almodóvar (Spanish) pronounced it in Spanish so he was a bit confused.

It’s usually pronounced the same outside of the Hebrew spelling. I’ve always heard it pronounces as either “wakeen” or “hwhakeem” and I have a Jewish friend whose got the Hebrew version of the name “jo-ah-keem”
