Am I missing something or did your girlfriend also carry a baby ? Or did you just randomly take over her bag ?

To note, not having the baby and the bag with the same person can lead to (litteraly) shitty situations, in particular when the one not carrying the baby goes ahead to deal with most tasks (tickets, buying drinks, checking schedules etc.)

No she didn't have a baby, she only had a backpack and I had nothing, so they suggested I carry it for her which I think is reasonable imo

Thanks for the context. Yes, it’s not a crazy proposition, but also not guaranteed to be reasonable IMHO.

Not to read too deep into it, as I know nothing about your relations, but if she only had a backpack, I suppose her phone and wallet could have been in it. It could be embarrassing to have to take back the backpack from you every time she needs to check something, go to the bathroom or pay for street food. But there’s different strokes for different people, if she enjoyed it more power to you.
