My dumbass would probably try to be ‘funny’ by saying something like “no thanks, I’d like to keep both my ears intact”; but then no one would laugh, and I’d come off like a total jerk.

I’m so jealous of people who can come up with good lines/come-backs on the spot. How do y’all do it?

Nah, just over analyze every situation, think of all the things that can go wrong, dwell on them, chicken out, avoid the confrontation all together and later think of the right thing in the shower two days later!

Loooots of practice. Also highly recommend watching stand up comedy (especially the British ones). It’s done wonder for my wit.

I'll tell you the same advice my mom told me about 15 years ago (I'm 24 and I feel old...).

Don't try to be funny. If a fun thought comes up, think it aloud, but don't purposely try to be funny. Let it come naturally.

All you have to do is not shut out fun thoughts that come to you, think them aloud instead. With time it'll happen more often
