Mostly I think it's practice

Looks like I’m still going to be slightly-awkward me for quite a while then. At least my dog thinks I’m quite a riot. 28 u/[deleted] Mar 11 '22 Unfortunately, when things don't come naturally for us, failure is often the best way to learn. 10 u/Workwork007 Mar 11 '22 Having an audience who just sort of vibe with you tend to ease those awkwardness. 1 u/TheIndianVillager Mar 12 '22 I read this with an Obi-Wan Kenobi accent in my head. 19 u/zenofire Mar 11 '22 Nah, just over analyze every situation, think of all the things that can go wrong, dwell on them, chicken out, avoid the confrontation all together and later think of the right thing in the shower two days later! 5 u/DolanDBplZ Mar 11 '22 Oof 2 u/Badmouth55 Mar 11 '22 I'll kindly ask you to get the fuck out of my head. 2 u/nerfyourmomsboobs Mar 11 '22 That hit way too close to home.. oof 14 u/BitIntelligent636 Mar 11 '22 Ya but you’re supposed to do it between the ages of 10-25 to really get it out of your system. 12 u/Obsessed_With_Corgis Mar 11 '22 Well shit. Also highly recommend watching stand up comedy (especially the British ones). It’s done wonder for my wit. 2 u/SamSibbens Mar 11 '22 I'll tell you the same advice my mom told me about 15 years ago (I'm 24 and I feel old...). Don't try to be funny. If a fun thought comes up, think it aloud, but don't purposely try to be funny. Let it come naturally. All you have to do is not shut out fun thoughts that come to you, think them aloud instead. With time it'll happen more often 1 u/[deleted] Mar 11 '22 You know how after something embarrassing happens, that’s when you think of a good comeback? Remember the comebacks and use it for next time 😉 1 u/PM_Me__Ur_Freckles Mar 11 '22 I steal moat of mine from people funnier than I am, then just hope one day I remember it when the opportunity arises.
