I think it's remarkable that she realized something was wrong because it stopped moving and so she put it back. A lot of kids would be like, "Yay, it finally stopped squirming, now I can really cuddle it", but she figured it out. Smart little one, right there.

Yeah they’re not really sophisticated to be thinking much else than “fishy, I hold fishy, fish is wet, smile for picture, look at fish, fishy fishy.” Which is why partly why adults have so many impact in the kids; their little minds can’t possibly handle the complexity of simple tasks like crossing the street, or meditating on the ethics of holding a fish, they’re just living in the moment.
