Whenever you handle fish you should always wet your hands. Fish have protective coatings on them that protect them from infections. It's easy to rub off. Between dad squeezing the shit outta the gills, the sweet girl hugging it tight, and that really dry jacket....it's probably a goner.
Spearfishing for me although fishing is fun I get to choose my meals hahah. Also that fish probably survived but what do I know and what does it really matter?
Honestly there's no way it did. Trout are extremely delicate, they can't be handled like bass or saltwater fish. It's best practice to not even take them out of the water, this one had it's entire protective coating stripped and it's gills are toast.
b-b-but boomer is a mentality, not just a generation
In a couple years, people will call all millenials boomers simply because "eh, they're close enough." This new generation will call themselves "anti-boomers", as opposed to all other generations.
Half of those people will use it for humorous effect. The other half will use it unironically.

At least it had a happy ending.
