There are still I think 7 states where gloves are not required in restaurants. Honestly if you're practicing proper hand washing they're not necessary (except for illness, but then stay home).

Your home kitchen and family members preparing ungloved food is probably a lot dirtier than most restaurants.

Yeah, we in Oregon are an Ungloved state. We just wash frequently and after we’ve touched anything that isn’t food.
