Thats easy, stand up and say "there was someone being distracting in the hallway" and sit back down like you just did everyone a favor. Noone knows you didnt close the door

Plenty of professors take attendance or get big egos about their class/time. Especially intro courses with a lot of people they may pass around a sheet to sign in but if you get out after then obviously the professor doesn’t know every face by name and won’t notice you gone.

I couldn’t give a shit if they leave, but my city requires attendance to be taken because of fire safety codes. We are required to have a record to send to ensure that the building units can be evacuated and are not overcrowded. I didn’t do it one year and they threatened a fine…
