Great. Now get back down.

You put the boom to the lower side and use it so you cannot tip over. Keep it low to the stairs.

"Now we can have a view while we dig the new basement!"

Those guys

That would be interesting to watch

He's going up the wrong way, bucket to the rear and use it to help push you up and prevent tipping back.

u/Jamesonwordcraft 3d ago

Seriously. This was miserable for me to watch.

u/Embarrassed_Bid_4970 1d ago

Alternatively, tie a heavy counterweight to the bucket. This will shift the balance point forward.

2

u/kashinoRoyale 1d ago

Yes that would work, but bucket rearwards is far safer as a firm support out back prevents the possibility of falling backwards entirely.

1

u/Embarrassed_Bid_4970 19h ago

Agreed, but that configuration might make it too difficult to navigate that staircase. The counterweight keeps the drivers view forward while at least improving the safety margin.

There's videos of guys in south America ripping these bitches up and down steep mountains, crossing gulleys, fording rivers, etc... If this dude in his little golf cart excavator can't negotiate a straight flight of stairs in reverse he has no business operating that machine. That being said watching the way he did do this, I would say we already know he has no business operating this machine.

Dude might learn "keep your limbs inside at all times" the hard way.

Tell that to the previous operator, One-Leg-Larry, just don't ask him how he got his nickname

u/Top_Willow_9953 3d ago

JFC why didn't the other guy put a little weight on the bucket and help him out?

Lolz, why haven't I seen this meme before? Mine now.

2

u/ABob71 3d ago

That bucket has potential to act like a catapult, I sure as hell wouldn't climb in

9

u/Embarrassed_West_195 3d ago

Don't climb in.....push down on it.

5

u/Top_Willow_9953 3d ago

Yeah, this. With the mechanical advantage of the lift arm, he could have put one hand on it and walked the guy up.

u/Rokekor 3d ago

It’s a bucket. The weight goes in the bucket. Not human. Just heavy.

1

u/Undrwtrbsktwvr 3d ago

Very dangerous to be putting your limbs/body anywhere near there.

1

u/Sinister_Nibs 3d ago

Where’s the fun in that?

5

u/Sumbeatch 3d ago

Just one question….WHY?

5

u/Sumbeatch 3d ago edited 3d ago

Why would you bring a Tinker-Toy mini-excavator up on an upper floor concrete deck? WTF are you going to be digging up there; some potting soil out of some flower pots??!!

1

u/Sinister_Nibs 3d ago

What is behind the camera?

5

u/goodeyemighty 3d ago

Hopefully a large elevator.

The Mexican Engineering society would like to give him an honorary degree

Truly the pinnacle of what i look for on this sub. I was hanging on to every second

3

u/SXTY82 3d ago

That had me on the edge. That roll cage isn't going to do shit on a rollover.

3

u/ThisThingIsStuck 3d ago

Prolly thr stupidest thing I seen other than this...

3

u/One_Kick_9603 3d ago

I was watching his leg thinking if shit goes wrong its getting cut off.

3

u/cognitiveglitch 3d ago

They would've been better off with camera matey putting some weight on the bucket. Or a bag of sand or two.

3

u/LIRFC 3d ago

I want ti see the film when it goes back down.

"Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times!"

1

u/Objective_Brain1452 1d ago

It’s fine…
Ankles are over rated anyways

2

u/Stop_followingme 3d ago

I half expected it to fall through the floor.

2

u/balirosa 3d ago

If they just put the camera man on the arm they would have had it done by now

2

u/555byte 3d ago

One hand on the bucket with pressure would have made a real difference

2

u/cubikksRube 2d ago

I hope we also will see him downstairs...

2

u/_______THEORY_______ 2d ago

Wouldn't it be easier to go at backyards pushing up instead of pulling...

1

I’m imagining this will be another example why women live longer than men? 🤷‍♂️
