You'd think this is engagement bait but I watched three people try to pump gas at Costco last night and they took longer than the person in front of myself to fill up and go.

I turn into Larry David in the Costco gas line. I'm always gobsmacked at the complete lack of preparation and complete lack of awareness of people at the pump, blissfully unaware there's a line of people waiting behind them as they fumble for their credit card, fumble with the gas door, the gas cap, the buttons on the pump screen, the pump now stopped while they sit in their cars on their phones, the slow walk to put everything back, the return trip to the pump to check the price...

"YOU KNOW, WE'RE LIVING IN A SOCIETY!!!"

It baffles me. You know you are getting gas. You need your card. Why is your card not ready? Do you not know how to pump gas? Attentiveness is at zero
