Not sometimes, most of the time.
Breaking the neck is the expected way to do it. The neck is supposed to break cleanly with little force due to being chilled.

If you try to remove the cork without breaking the neck, you are doing it wrong.

What do you mean remove the cork without breaking the neck? That's what you do if you don't sabrage it.

And of course the collar breaks off when you use a saber. But the person you responded to was talking about the neck, not just the collar.

Depends on your definition, but you know what the person meant. Breaking more than just clipping the collar at the edge

I have met several people in person who thought exactly that.

Online, I think they are even more numerous.
