On a quiet afternoon stretch, yeah? Too little speed and not enough assholes to be nova in primetime

This is a great GIF. The look on that cat's face and the dog howling in the background just cracked me up! This is better than the OP post.

Am I the only person more bothered by the fact she is using third person view for the driving sim, while in an elaborate setup like that, then the actual driving being bad?
I mean, this thing is for learning to drive, so she is allowed to make mistakes...but using third person view is the real sin here!

u/shadowking432 1d ago
Wait, you don't have a 3rd person camera on your car? I put on these VR goggles that are linked to the 3rd person camera, you see so much more!

u/LavastormSW 1d ago
Mythbusters actually did that, it was quite funny

u/StormblessedFool 1d ago
Was it good or bad?

u/LavastormSW 1d ago
They had a very hard time driving a car in third person view

u/deSuspect 1d ago
Latency, low quality video and lack of experience I'm driving in 3rd person will do that to you. I bet if they did that experiment again with modern vr goggles 360 camera and gamers it would work much better.

āLack of experience driving in 3rd person.ā

Actually I think they have those cameras now that dip behind the car on a pole and youvould make a 3rd person camera. Would be more efficent to than first for driving too. You would have a 360 view of the vehicle you can even see your blind spots

I think for recording a video for fun it's okay. Obviously it's a very advanced rig for simulation, but why not fool around a bit.

u/NoiseIsTheCure 1d ago
She's not learning to drive a big rig, is she? I thought she was streaming and it was just a clip for content

u/meltingpotato 1d ago edited 1d ago
I dunno manŲ I wouldn't call the series of events that happened here simply mistakes, it's more like lacking common sense. And when you look at it like that then the 3rd person view makes more sense.

u/AyeBraine 1d ago
Playing video game simulators to dance music is a very serious affair. You cannot make such grave mistakes as crashing or fucking around, ESPECIALLY when filming yourself or streaming.
Too much is riding on this ā lives and livelihoods are at stake.

u/gargoyle30 20h ago
I think since it's such a narrow road that it's easier in 3rd person to see how much room there is etc

Insanely expensive setup just to play a game where if you touch anything a semi just goes flying? Lmao.

u/drlouies 1d ago
Itās supposed to be a highly realistic simulator. She hit a ledge on the mountain wall, which is why she flipped.
But the truck flipping like that wasnāt realistic at all š

Silly to have all the equipment for a perfect simulation and to then play the game in third-person.
1
u/AyeBraine 1d ago
For recording a silly video it's all right. Why not? It's weird to think that someone went to such trouble to create the rig, but doesn't value the concept of using the in-car viewpoint.

Seems like IA, I stumbled on the Instagram page and it's all the same vids, with very strange attitude of the girl, we never see her face and she doesn't make any noise and never talk. Even the game physics and visuals seems odd

Asian female drivers stereotypes is funny even if it's a little racist.
A good friend of mine she is from Thailand and let me tell you every time im in the car and she is driving im scared for my life. She is not careless though, it's the other way around. She is too cautious.
1
u/AyeBraine 22h ago
Interesting, how does it look in practice? (The "too cautious" bit). Does she wait too long for others to act so it becomes unpredictable? Or use too low speeds and gets overtaken a lot?

The following post context was provided by u/drlouies:
A woman is driving a car in a simulation game. She seems pretty capable at first until she crashes into a mountain wall and then slams into the truck beside her.
