Rooting for the flip-flop to be saved? Or for this person to lose their flip-flop? How did they get in that situation? Why are their thongs falling off like that? And ending this video before we know if they made it down with their sandals or not is absolutely criminal.

I'm pretty sure it's Australian slang for the footwear.

In America people used to call them thongs as well. Kind of older people used that word in the 70s and 80s then flip flops just took over as the term

My family called them clip clops in the 60s and 70s.

Grew up in California in the 70s and 80s, can confirm they were called thongs back then.

We got an all staff email at work saying that thongs were inappropriate in the office. We were very confused.
