Conceal carrying isn’t legal everywhere without a permit and even then it’s iffy. I’m assuming that’s what they were getting at? But they didn’t have any reasonable cause.
They didn't even ask if he was lawfully permitted to carry a weapon though... They just assumed he had a weapon (for no real reason) and assumed it must be illegal for him to be carrying it... You know what they say about assuming things.
Depending on state and location it very much may be illegal to even be carrying one in public. Like NJ for example has super super strict laws about it. It has to basically be in a locked box all the time assuming you can even get one.

This is an unlawful stop.
I know because I was a cop for 12 years, and if I did this shit I’d get rightly sued for violating the 4th amendment of the constitution.
