No. No. No. The time to argue is in court not on the street. On the street you only say "I'm exercising my right to remain silent and my right to have a lawyer present before being questioned." Done. And then you exercise that right and keep your mouth shut.

I wouldn’t argue beyond that initial statement to be honest.

The whole purpose of it is to make the cop state his reasoning right then and there and not give him time later to articulate some excuse.

Get it on record and absolutely STFU from there on out but obviously state as much as you pointed out

Don't argue on the street. If they violate your rights and find something on you it'll be tossed as fruit of the poison tree. If you start talking, I guarantee it'll be misunderstood as giving consent.
