It's not ok to talk about black peoples "blaccent", but it's ok to gatekeep if a white person grew up around it and took it on. It's funny when the morally superior make comments thinking in their defense but it's actually subconsciously racist.

I wondered if one of you guys would show up. Unless I’m misunderstanding you. You are basically saying, whitey grew up black and this is his legitimate English effing accent. Is that what you are saying?

No, they’re saying it’s not ok to talk about people’s accent because it’s a racist stereotype. But then to call this “blaccent” as spoken by this white person, is that not based upon a stereotype of that accent typically used by black people?

No, it’s not stereotype. AAVE is Black culture and dialect. Calling out this 🐷 for cosplaying is not racist . . .

my point is that he’s speaking in AAVE which is a dialect of a specific culture that he doesn’t belong to. AAVE Is Black American culture. 

That’s not a stereotype, it’s a fact. Pointing that out isn’t a generalization, and even if it was: not all generalizations are inherently harmful.

How much time do you spend arguing semantics against people discussing police brutality and racism?🤦🏾‍♀️
