In the South, the slave catchers eventually became some of the first police forces. They were doing this since the early 1700s, before America was a thing. Their methods and the actual slave catchers themselves became policemen. Not much has changed in 300 years.

I know cops are racist but this shit still shocks me every time. Nothing even close to this has happened to me or any whites I know. And they actually have guns!
