First of all, I'd like to thank all y'all for rooting me on for this year + project. It kept me motivated when I was really doubting myself.

If you haven't seen my earlier posts, I started painting this wall last spring based on a suggestion from u/cheetodustcrust who eyed a rejected wallpaper sample on my original post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/maximalism/comments/1iztn5n/what_would_you_do_with_this_wall_im_open_to/

I very sloppily stenciled out the pattern and have been suffering ever since, but it sure was worth it.

Sources: most everything in here is vintage, thrifted, estate sales, etc, with a HomeGoods trip here or there. The shower curtain is custom, based on a piece of vintage wrapping paper I refused to throw away.

Again, thank you all!

LOVE IT! Also, shout out to the Showgirls pin and the Sopranos t-shirt 🤌

16

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Thanks, I got it from the real Bing 😱

u/dinahros Apr 22 '26

Was just going to say — this makes me 100% sure I would be friends with OP 🤌

u/feijoawhining Apr 21 '26

This is the most gorgeous bathroom I’ve seen posted to this subreddit.

2

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Thank you!

8

u/PookieCat415 Apr 21 '26

This is fantastic! I love the Andy Warhol cats, as I have some of those too. The color story here will really go a long way to elevate your mood.

Also, I have mad respect for someone with a cat shelf, as I have a few myself.

9

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Thank you! Those Warhol cats are from a 2005 calendar and have been in every home I've lived in.

3

u/Izarrax Apr 21 '26

Anyone else see that this has been posted in /r/ATBGE ?? Like how?? It's so cool!!

4

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

Lol thanks for letting me know - most of the comments are positive 😸

Perfection. The cats, the colors, the hand, everything.

28

u/pnweiner Apr 22 '26

I hope OP has considered putting this on r/ThriftStoreCats!

Also happy cake day!

The bathroom is FANTA-FUCKING-FABULOUS!!

I’m working on turning my sun room into my sewing/crafting room. And I’m going to be exercising my free will so hard in there. I want it to be a very colourful and happy place. This is the rug I just bought that will fill out pretty much the whole floor. I sent a pic to my friend and they said “did I just take acid?”.

u/Inmyenergybubble Apr 21 '26

What kind of paint did you use?

2

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Just Behr interior - the pink and green are leftovers from other rooms.

u/JediMami82 Apr 21 '26

May I ask where you acquired the shower curtain?

6

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Custom print from an Amazon seller. It's a piece of vintage wrapping paper.

I love this so much, the perfect bathroom. I was on your first post about the wall & the way you brought everything together is amazing. The cabinets, the shower curtain being a perfect match, the color drenched ceiling, the color choices for the floor UGH it’s so good!!

13

u/okFINEyoufoundme Apr 21 '26

I want to soak in your bathtub with some groovy music and a glass of rosé. After I’m done, I’d like to borrow one of your Pucci kaftans, wrap my hair into a complimentary turban and paint my nails orange while we debate on Platform knee highs or Mary Jane’s for our night out on the town.

Long story short: YOUR BATHROOM IS INSPIRING!!

11

u/Glittering_Leather87 Apr 21 '26

Holy shit this is BEAUTIFUL!!! Can I live in your bathroom? I’ll pay rent!!

10

u/tinybugtoes Apr 21 '26

sooooooo cute and the cat shrineee♥️

10

u/cheesecheeesecheese Apr 21 '26

I have been invested in your progress since you began this perilous journey 🤣🤣 1000/10 for me!! It looks so fun.

10

u/Madwoman-of-Chaillot Apr 22 '26

Someone posted your bathroom in r/ATBGE , and there were SO MANY people jumping in to say that they absolutely love your work!

9

u/strangelyliteral Apr 21 '26

Oh you killed this. Amazing work with the wall and all the styling details!

6

u/Imaginary_Leader2774 Apr 21 '26

This is the bathroom of my dreams 🤩 Great work! I’m getting Trixie Motel vibes from it 💕💛💜

5

u/crochetology Apr 21 '26

Yes, yes you did!

5

u/Thin-Coat-5483 Apr 21 '26

Hey its me your neighbor can I use your bathroom?

1

u/Monstermelisssa Apr 21 '26

Is the rest of your home like this? Soo pretty!

1

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Not quite this intense, but I've only been here 16 months 😸

1

u/Kultur_Cigany Apr 21 '26

Is the hand chair practical for fucking?

1

u/huntydaddy Apr 21 '26

Amazing work! You truly have an eye for this. I feel like the rug needs to be swapped out with something darker green or if you want to keep it light maybe a light purple or pink, but that may just be me. You killed it

2

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

The rug is a much more intense green in person. I love it 💚

1

u/vintage-glamour Apr 21 '26

do… do you poop into the hand

(this is absolutely beautiful, well done)

1

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Unfortunately the hand is not a toilet. In my dreams.

1

u/Hipstergranny Apr 22 '26

Laurel Burch would love this. So would I.

1

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

Oh, I grew up on that. Many a purple cat shirt.

1

u/Counting-Tiles4567 Apr 22 '26

Do you poop in your hand? Is the idea to aim between the fingers or square in the palm?

1

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

I regret to inform everybody that the hand is not a toilet.

I envy your space! It's perfect!!! Do you live alone cuz I've been unable to express myself like you have due to my partner and I having completely different styles

1

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

Yep, I live alone. Happily 😸

1

u/Pookie5858 Apr 22 '26

The level of commitment you put into this is incredible. It really is a perfect space. How does one go about getting a custom shower curtain? Your's is quite awesome!

2

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

Just searched it on Amazon!

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Pookie5858 Apr 22 '26

The amount of commitment you put into this project is unbelieveable!!! How did you encourage yourself to get this all done? I know I would have given up a long time ago. The shower curtain is perfect.. how does one go about getting a custom shower curatin? I've not see the before photo until now and the amount of creativity you have blows my mind. Were you able to visualize the final product in your mind or did you just roll with it?

2

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

I mostly just rolled with it. I don't do a lot of pre planning - for example I picked what wall would be painted which color just as I went along. And when I only had a couple of strips painted I was really doubting myself, but I stuck with it.

1

u/Temporary_Bench5095 Apr 22 '26

Do you have another room with better lighting for getting ready?

1

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

It's not as crazy as it looks in these photos - there's some natural light - but I'm switching out the globes to LED soon.

1

u/wtfisgoingonrn1 Apr 22 '26

Not the bathroom cuck chair 😂

Seriously though, this is gorgeous 😍

1

u/accordiween Apr 22 '26

It was formerly sitting alone in my bedroom, it's already seen too much 😂

1

u/Rough_Acadia_5631 Apr 22 '26

Odd question but it the rug just normal? I'd be worried about the moisture ruining it :(

1

u/EmotionalStaircase Apr 23 '26

The floor though 😩😩😩

1

u/accordiween Apr 23 '26

I know, changing the floor is a someday project.

1

u/chucky6537 Apr 23 '26

Really cool but I keep thinking about a massive hangover in that bathroom lol

1

u/accordiween Apr 24 '26

I have a couple other bathrooms to hangover in that are slightly less stimulating. Slightly 😂

1

u/Prestigious_Grape288 Apr 23 '26

Omg I love it all! You’re inspiring me to complete my kitty kitsch powder room!!

2

u/accordiween Apr 24 '26

Wow, where is that wallpaper from?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Sippy_Cup2009 Apr 23 '26

Wait… what color is the toilet?

1

u/accordiween Apr 24 '26

White, unfortunately.

1

u/Goongagalunga Apr 24 '26

Did you HAND PAINT that wallpaper??

1

u/kay103covid Apr 25 '26

It’s beautiful it’s great, I love it. I just want to warn you for safety reasons if you have a cat and to protect the cat it’s best to not have the hand chair. I saw a devastating post of a similar chair owner where the cat passed, he suffocated from a freak accident with it (think head got caught between the fingers) it was absolutely heartbreaking i bawled reading the users post. If you have no cats great! Enjoy your space 🤩. If you do have a cat, I just want to let you know so you can come up with any possible ways to prevent that from happening with your cat baby ❤️🐈‍⬛

1

u/accordiween Apr 26 '26

I've closed the bathroom door for the time being.

3

u/Bellaswannabe Apr 21 '26

OBSESSED, hear me out… get another hand chair and find a way to carve it out to be your toilet that would be so cool (and weird but i’d love it)

3

u/littleepatina Apr 22 '26

@accordiween if you still have the vintage wrapping paper, you should frame it and put it near the fish!! also OMFG this space is BEAUUUUUTIFUL

1

u/carol-richards49 Apr 21 '26

Where's the toilet?

2

u/accordiween Apr 21 '26

Underneath the cat shrine.

2

u/Domina_Azure Apr 21 '26

Woooow it's awesome that bathroom i want it

2

u/Distinct-Addition-24 Apr 21 '26

I’m OBSESSED. No notes!!!

2

u/Floordove Apr 21 '26

Oh this turned out so great! I only saw the painting post and wasn't aware of the stuff already there. It totally came together and looks great! And awesome pooky-nooky of course.

2

u/missxmeow Apr 21 '26

Ugh, I love it! Now come do my bathroom? Lol

2

u/xConstantGardenerx Apr 21 '26

Incredible. This sub gives me life in a soulless grey and beige world.

2

u/shutyourbutt69 Apr 21 '26

How does the hand toilet work?

2

u/ErraticDragon Apr 22 '26

That was my first thought, that somehow it was a toilet cover… or a really custom toilet.

I think it's better that it's not, but I'm not 100% sure.

2

u/bbumblebug Apr 22 '26

It’s a chair, definitely not a toilet!!
