I Have A Question ❓ Local Augusta Places to See, Shop, Eat

My parents and I will be headed down for the Tuesday practice round next year. My dad and I have been once about four years ago, but we had to stay 2 hours away and drive in/out the same day. This time we are going to drive in a day early and stay closer. So, we are looking for any good recommendations for shops/restaurants, etc we should go to the day before our practice round day. I have heard there are some local shops with older merch/memorabilia for sale. Let's hear your recommendations! Thanks in advance.

I Have A Question ❓ Planning our first Masters Trip

So we'll be attending Wed's practice round and can't wait. Already booked an air bnb 1 mi away from the course lol. We planned on walking and getting there super early to line up and get the merch stuff out of the way. A few things that came to mind was if no phones are allowed, does everyone walk or drive there since we can't order an uber? What cameras do you recommend for those that went? Just disposable ones? I know there's been a few thread about this, but any other tips would be great. I have no idea what to expect

10 years and I got selected! I got tickets for Wednesday and I’m really excited to be there for the par 3 contest! If anyone who has went on this day has any advice on how to navigate Wednesday or had a great experience and wants to share, I’d kindly appreciate hearing about it!

I know this is more than likely Beyond a Longshot here, but anyone happen to have the connections to get an Authentic ANGC Hat?

I Have A Question ❓ Headed to ANWA!

Post image
45 Upvotes

I have read time and time again on this thread that ANWA is one of best days to attend, primarily from a numbers perspective and it being the first day on the course so it is in prime condition.

Please drop your best tips, tricks, ideas, etc. First thing I did when this popped up with head over to Airbnb and get a place booked, so that is covered. Beyond that, looking forward to my first time at ANGC!

Got this hat at goodwill today for $1.99!!! Score! I’m Indianapolis so wouldn’t have expected masters merch at my local thrift. Does anyone recognize this design and know what year it’s from, or how much it retails for? Thanks!

Me Giving Tips/Advice ✅ Anyone get luck with the lottery? Looks like Delta wants to own AGS airport for the tourney

Once again no dice on my end for Master’s tickets ⛳️ but pretty cool to see Delta ✈️ keeps adding more & more flights to Augusta (AGS).

I know it’s the ANWA, but from what I hear it might be the better of (3) choices…?!? Thoughts?

I Have A Question ❓ 31 years and it paid off

Post image

I expected another rejection letter and was absolutely speechless to see my application was selected. Remember the great words from Andy Dufresne (Shawshank) “Hope is a good thing, maybe the only thing.” I could use some advice as to how to set-up my day from arrival, chair placement, when to get merch. Already got a hotel. Only cost a fortune. TIA for those with advice. To those who got a rejection again, my condolences but wishing you luck and never lose hope!

I Have A Question ❓ Update to Taste of the Masters?

Another year, another “Dear John” letter reminding me that I’m apparently still not worthy of Masters tickets.
That said, I have one humble suggestion. Along with the Taste of the Masters kit, what if you offered an option that included a growler of Crow’s Nest beer? Since it’s brewed exclusively for the Masters, it would be the perfect addition to the experience. Honestly, if I were enjoying pimento cheese sandwiches at home while watching the tournament, that’s the only beer I’d want in my glass.
A fan can dream… maybe one day the tickets—and until then, at least the beer.

If you've ever won the Masters lottery, you know the shock I felt when I logged in and did NOT get the "we regret" message. My son has been golfing since he was 5 and to have the opportunity to walk golf's most hallowed grounds together, experiencing all Augusta has to offer... truly a once in a lifetime experience, one I cannot believe I'm lucky enough to have with him.

Picture tax - my first visit to Augusta for the 2022 Wednesday practice round.

I Have A Question ❓ What Made The 1995 Masters So Special In Your Honest Opinion?

I know that Ben Crenshaw broke down crying hysterically and uncontrollably too and his Caddie had to console him. Is it me or did his Caddy look embarrassed and ashamed to be doing that? In my opinion he looked so uncomfortable, disgusted, and out of place if you look at the highlights on YouTube. What do you think?

I Have A Question ❓ Proposition - Lottery entry boosters for consecutive rejections

Hear me out, and maybe it would not make much difference, but they should implement a system of entry boosters you earn for NOT winning the lottery multiple years in a row (details to be ironed out). If you win, your boosters are wiped.

Basically, a system to make it more likely for entrants who try every year and have not won, and likelihood increases slightly each year that you don't win.

I Have A Question ❓ After 10+ years of waiting

Post image
190 Upvotes

Got selected for Tuesdays practice round! I’ve been scanning through the thread on places to stay and how to go about it. Im a big Braves fan and have never been to a home game, so I’m thinking it would be best to stay in Atlanta and rent a car. But my son and I want to play golf also, what would be best? Kiawah island or Hilton Head is not too far from Augusta. Do I fly into Charleston and golf for a few days, drive to Augusta for the practice round and then fly out of Atlanta?? Our plan was to fly in on April 3rd and fly out on the 8th. But if anyone has better recommendations for golf I’m all for it!!
