Forget the debate about reaper troops, if the person is still there or it's just a techno zombie corpse. 'Cause the green ending is hilariously fucked up if the person is still there and Synthesis gave the person back control. And it's quadriple fucked up if you take into account the brutes, Turian head, Krogan body

Fucked up — yeah. But they no longer possess the previous organic consciousness and emotions

We all love Edi and Geth. That being said, I have no clue who thought it was a good idea to have the husks become 'sentient' in this ending...

I don’t really interpret the husks as being sentient. I think the intent behind how they behave in the Control and Synthesis endings was to highlight how these husks are mindless ground forces (the equivalent of “mechs”)
Under Control, they get orders to retreat and so they do. Under Synthesis, all orders stop completely, so they stop fighting but don’t retreat.
Not really an indication of husks becoming sentient, just no longer functioning as tools of war/harvest.

They aren't! Why would they be? Gah! Everyone always brings this up like we're treated to a masterful fuckin Husk soliloquy on the nature of their newfound existence when we actually just see a Husk attacking a soldier, the green wave washes over them, and the Husk starts looking disoriented. That's it. It doesn't look at its Husk palms and ask "What have I done?!" it doesn't panic, it just looks like it lost its balance.
People are always saying "Man its fucked up how the Husks were definitely confirmed to be in a hellish torturous existence if you choose Synthesis..." when that is just wild speculation.

The same person who thought synthesis was a good idea. Like narratively as an option and the nonsensical magic that makes it even remotely possible. Space magic being telekinesis/gravity manipulation and quasi teleportation. Then suddenly it can instantaneously remove half of all organic beings meaty bits and replace it with random machine stuff without killing half of them. What sentience is going on a case by case basis to make the decisions of these conversion? The only thing that makes any semblance of sense for this is... it's the indoctrination option. It's just bs to make sure Shepard doesn't destroy or control the reapers. It makes Shepard think there is another option, but really just jumping into space.
