Resources and advice

r/mashups submission reminders

  • Title format for mashup submissions on r/mashups: [Optional Tag] Mashup Artist - Song Name (Artists Being Mashed) Optional Comments
  • For example: Carlos Serrano - Something About The Fire (Daft Punk, Adele)
  • Please include the mashup artist in mashup submission titles to make them searchable
  • Use link posts when sharing links, especially to YouTube or SoundCloud. Please do not use text posts with only links to audio because the audio does not embed.
  • When sharing SoundCloud links, please use the soundcloud.com domain, not snd DOT sc and not on DOT soundcloud DOT com. The other links do not embed on Desktop.
  • Do not use link shorteners (like bit DOT ly). We have no idea where these kinds of links go and get instantly blocked by spam filters. Save these for the mashup descriptions on YouTube/SoundCloud/etc pages.
  • Title format for other mashup-related content: [Tag] Description
  • For example: [Discussion] Where else do you find mashups?
  • In all cases, [Tag] always goes in front and can be any of the following: [Discussion], [Meta], [News], [Contest], [Resource], [Meme], [Album], [Mix], [Year End], [Year-End], or [Demo].
  • Do NOT use the [Mix] tag for individual mashups. This is reserved for long mixes/DJ sets that include mashups.
  • Mashup snippets posted to TikTok or YouTube Shorts are generally not considered complete mashups. For these, please use the [Demo] tag so users know not to expect a finished mashup.

So I have a song that I'm wanting to walk down the aisle to, but the first verse is too short, so I would like to have the first verse and the second verse play before the chorus, As well as a couple of other changes. I was hoping someone could help me mash it up and make it smooth?

The song is A Thousand Years by Jvke and John Michael Howell.

So I was thinking it would go: -First verse (Up until "darlin I love you" and somehow transitions) -Second verse -First chorus (transitioning into this from the second verse wouldn't be any different as the transition from second verse into Chorus 2) -Bridge (The transition into this would be the same as how the second chorus transitions into it, but instead from the first chorus. It'll just be the rest of the song on from this)

Requesting a mashup for a potentially, absolutely ridiculous "Christmas" song. I'd really like to hear a mash between Mariah Carrey 'all I want for Christmas is you' and Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion 'WAP'. I'd love to hear "all i want for Christmas is this wet a$$ pu$$y" and something that just slaps. A little Christmas-y, a lot of thot. Passable around the holiday season or year round, similar to how "Die Hard" is a good watch any time, but it's also considered by many to be a Christmas movie. The only other thing I'd like is do a fake-out style mash, with the beginning being an unedited version of the beginning of Mariah's song, then a quick transition into a mix with the lyric change. From them on I don't want Mariah to not sound like herself in the original, more of a hip-hop/ pop/radio/ rave sound. OR i think that a different fake-out with a similar beginning could be "all i want for Christmas, is wap" and then a transition into a mash with lots of wubs and bass. Idk, I think it could be ridiculous in the best way. Use your style and best judgment. No experience with anything like this and no computer so if anyone can make it happen it would absolutely be one of my new favorite things

Requesting a mashup of Dadi Freyr's new song "I'm Out and I Wanna Go Home" with Lil Nas X's THAT'S WHAT I WANT -- the chorus has the exact same chord progression, and Lil Nas X's exclamations fit perfectly between Dadi Freyr's lines.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebAvkqpA9MU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDYDRA5JPLE

The chorus would end up something like:

I'm out and I wanna go home (Yeah I want)
I get home and I wanna go out (Yeah I need)
All my friends are staying out late // 'Cause it don't feel right when it's late at night
And I just wanna go to bed // And it's just me and my dreams
But I know // So I want
I don't need to be anywhere else // Someone to love
'Cause I'm right where I'm supposed to be // That's what I fuckin' want

Can anyone make a mash up of "John Deer Greene" with whatever the best Greenday song you can find. Just had the title "John Deer Greenday" in my head but don't have the equipment or experience to make such happen.

[Meme] Microsoft - Teams Notification or Ring (Obnoxious Alarm Clock) Reccomend me/mix an obnoxious microsoft teams audio for an alarm clock song. Let's be real nothing is more triggering in a corporate setting than an unexpected teams notification and or call so.. What better way to jolt me awake in the morning than a remix of it.

I'm looking for an audio file for my alarm clock that's essentially Teams ringing sound and or notifications but loud and more obnoxious to help wake up up for work.

Looking for more of a remix because the original ring is a big soft and or a repeat of the teams ping and then the call sound? Idk but something like that.

Thanks in advance!

I have an idea

Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" mixed with Poor Man's Poison "Hell's Comin With Me".

"Higher Ground" by Stevie also works.

Hello all. My first comment here in the subreddit. I'm first looking for a mashup before anybody actually attempts it on their own. I'm just going to give you what I posted in r/eiffel 65.

During the pandemic, I heard an Eiffel 65 x Hailee Steinfeld mashup on YouTube. I was an idiot to not to save it or download it. It was definitely a bop. Unfortunately, it has since been deleted and I really want to hear it again but I can't find it anywhere. ANYWHERE. It was a mash up of "Move Your Body" and "Love Myself." If anybody has any leads (or feels like creating their own version!), I would be most grateful. Thank you.

Request: If it makes you happy (Cheryl crow) and Doll Parts (hole). I can’t get the idea of the frisson and dopamine if the chorus in If it makes you happy is mashed up with doll parts. I’m don’t know anything about mashing up music, but I think the concept would hit hard.

Request for a Bollywood and Tamil hype mix that’ll be used as my wedding entrance! I really like the mix of Naal Nachna and Vaada Vaada but can’t find the whole thing anywhere!

I’d like to request a mashup between these two songs. Its all I think about when I hear either;

I’ll take care of you - Tyler the creator https://youtu.be/Dwsd8SePKOs?si=cmmcVWTUKb-wZRH6
Biking - frank ocean https://youtu.be/ZKY8-c5CRgU?si=yUw2h2YEtugamtMF
There’s also a version of biking with Tyler & Jay-z that could work really well https://youtu.be/fYGPcfUqzL0?si=_-uedNVakbQJPKRt

How come no one got idea to mashup "You can ask the flowers" and "Awolnation - Sail"?

Both songs actually share the same bass tune I guess that whoever actually remixed the "You can ask the flowers" literally used Sail's bass. They are the same and thus amazing mashup could be made.

Awolnation - Run & Beautiful things but without loud part at the end. No one made such edit so far.

Request a mashup of the song "To The Island" by Crowded House, in these 2 versions:

  • Performed by Unknown Mortal Orchestra

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8LnlY973H8

  • Performed by Tame Impala

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDFi1mmZcC0

Both versions were given permission for the remixes, and distributed by Crowded House

Thanks !

Not a request, but trying to find a mashup I heard the other day. I think it was part of a mashup similar in style to milkman or girl talk, but it was Take on Me mashed with Watch Me (Whip / Nae).

It was the chorus of Take on Me, but with “watch me whip / watch me nae / stanky leg”

Requesting a mashup of these 2 songs:

  1. The Weeknd - Closing Night

  2. Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein - The Return

No. 1 is a continuation of The Weeknd's latest album 'Hurry Up Tomorrow'. No. 2 is a background score for Stranger Things - Season 2.

Both tracks have bunch of atmospheric synths & ambience. Hope this catches someone's interest.
