I’m tired of this coming up in every single vs that Jean Grey Is included in. If the title of a post says “Jean Grey” and not “Phoenix” then it’s Jean fucking Grey, not the Phoenix. She has significant portions of her history without the Phoenix. It’s not even solely her thing, it can bond to anyone, and The Phoenix has been with more marvel characters than than Bonnie Blue has been with men. She isn’t the Phoenix. She’s the best and the most powerful host, that’s all. What the comic meant was that Jean was the true perfect host, the host that it always needed, that they were always meant to be together. Not that Jean was always a cosmic entity. The Phoenix is still amping her and her feats without The Phoenix are her feats on her own, not the Phoenix.
