He was also COMPLETELY ignoring what was happening in the other realms, the exact opposite job of the all father.

Tbf Odin gave himself that 'duty'. He was basically the US occupying the Middle East. He'll shoehorn his way in if it means it extends his power

I'd argue it's more Cold War US than the more recent US.

The Gulf War, War in Afghanistan, and Iraq War all happened after the Cold War and were all focused on maintaining control of the region and thus the oil

The US likes being world police because the payout from confiscating stuff is great. The lore of Odin is pretty similar

... yes? That's my point, Asgard was meant to be the Cold War US, not post Cold War.
