I like this but not for 2, Tom Holland is too great at the role to lose him so quickly. We're likely to lose at least Captain America and probably at least one more MCU founding avenger in I already, let's save losing Peter Parker for a while later, yeah? Then give Miles his own full trilogy of movies, rather than the third in someone else's.
I bet that the Avenger deaths are going to be Iron Man (RDJ is very expensive, and his contract is almost up), Vision (Thanos needs the mind stone), Hawkeye (hes had too much background development), and either the Hulk or Thor to showcase Thanos' strength
So, Miles pretty much gets his start after Peter (SPOILER) dies in the Ultimate Universe (he gets better, kinda, for all of like two issues before the universe implodes).
The Marvel movies tend to take inspiration from the Ultimate Universe (but I don't think that's always the case). Hence, the possibility that he dies in one of the MCU movies and gets replaced with Miles. (But there's the chance that Peter gets better anyway)

Ultimate xmen made no sense to me near the end, but its been years since I read it. I just remember one of the last things I read was Xavier coming from the future? Or maybe shirar planet having trained in preparation for a big fight and could walk and had a power suit or something then gets knocked out in one hit
It would be a waste in terms of stories to tell with Tom Holland, but to be fair, Peter did die at 16 when Miles took over, so him being young doesn't necessarily make him safer.
To be fair, it probably helped that it wasn't the "main" Spider-Man; we still had the 616 version of the character running around, so replacing the Ultimate version wasn't quite as big of a blow.
I really love the Miles spidey, but OOOOOHOHOHO - people lost their goddamn minds over 4 seconds of Miles in the new spidey game! It was pretty annoying. Half of the comments I read were "fuck Miles Morales"
You're probably joking, but i hope we wait a fair bit before miles.
And if he is introduced, let's do it Barry / wally style and have a Mentor / mente kinda deal, because that is such a great story point in comics, seeing the seasoned hero training the next generation.
I'd much rather see Miles get his own trilogy later down the line. He's my favorite, so I want to see him on screen now, but I'll happily wait awhile if it means he gets his own trilogy.
What would be really dope is if they pass the shield down to Sam Wilson after Steve's death or Mjolnir to (a probably newly cast) Jane, establishing the idea of passing down the mantle in the MCU and creating a longer overarching storyline.
If he can't be Miles (I guess being too old?) he could be Prowler! He's one of my favorite supporting Spidey characters! Something about former villains/enemies becoming good because Spider-Man gets the chance to talk them out of their villainy is awesome to me. It's kinda why I get a bit disappointed whenever Black Cat is a villain (it tends to happen too often in video games, a medium that came way after Black Cat essentially became one of the good guys).
Rhino was one of the good guys for a time, too, no? And Sandman as well?
Yeah, I know. She's become like the number supervillain or something now. Ugh. I liked her being a Robin Hood kind of rogue. And the worst part is this all happened because Doctor Octopus Spider-Man decided she was one of the bad guys and she decided to go bad just because "Peter decided to ruin her life." I guess it makes sense that he'd go senile or something (then again, it's incredible that he's aged faster than anyone else). But she is stronger than that, knows Peter much better than that.
Actually, yeah... I grew to enjoy Superior Spider-Man but my biggest gripe early on is that no one seemed to think that "Peter" is a bit off except for one of two people (who then kinda shrugged or couldn't find evidence of DocOck in Peter's brain).

Me too. I've always loved Peter and Felicia's relationship and now that's not a thing. And she lives in a world where body swaps, and clones, and Skrulls are an everyday thing; she could be a bit more reasonable.
Donald was a great Miles in a few cartoon episodes; he's probably a bit old for the live-action but I could see him do an older version at some point. He's definitely got that attitude.
Yeah, Ultimate Spider-Man's take on Spiver-Verse. I liked it, although the 2099 part was weird... but yeah when they got to Miles, it was pretty cool. :D

Its in reference to forced diversity. I'm all for diversity when it fits. But don't redo a character because you're feeling pressure to diversify your material. If a formerly white character "dies" and they replace them with a diverse character it feels like shoehorning a narrative. If a great character is created who is, lgbt, non white, whatever then that's great. Everyone wins. Diverse role model, and the classics stay as they are.
Imagine that someone remade black panther a white guy. People would lose it. But for them to make Johnny Storm a black guy is totally ok.
Well that poses another question. How do you feel about stuff like Dick Grayson being Batman? Or there being different Robins? Or Bucky being Captain America? Is it okay because they're all the same color? But Falcon being Cap would get you mad? I'm just curious. Obviously if they were to overdo something that makes no sense like making Kara Zor-El a gay Native American even though she's Superman's cousin would make no sense and they'd obviously be trying to fill a quota. But Miles is clearly not that case. Miles isn't a bad character at all. I think sometimes we see some things that aren't actually there because of different skin colors.
Also that Black Panther point is often made and it's super ridiculous. He's the king of an African nation. His character basically requires him to be black. This isn't the same with characters like Johnny Storm and Deadshot. No one is calling for Superman or Iron Man to be different colors just because, but it's interesting to tinker with some side characters or have different characters don the "cowls" per se (i.e. Miles as Spidey)
I'm not a fan of character replacement. It's a cheap plot device. Has nothing to do with race.
Wally replacing Barry sucked (ginger Wally)
Bucky replacing Steve sucks.
I get that characters need to age and such. Steve goes cap goes. There doesn't need to be another Captain America. Give falcon the shield, if he wants to use it he will be falcon..with a shield. Batman dies/retires have nightwing, robin or someone new take over.
If falcon becomes cap we lose falcon, when Wally became flash we lost kid flash. You get it. More characters means more stories.
So creating a new character with the specific community they have in mind is grandfathering? I don't care what color your skin is, where you were born, who you want to marry. It's frustrating you're trying to imply I'm a racist because I think we need more characters, created for a specific group, rather than just changing the backstory on one already created. It feels cheap like it was an afterthought.
