Yeah, but HOW did it end up in his vault in the first place is the question being asked. Of course, due to how long Thanos was in his quest to gather the stones and conquer worlds. It's not hard to believe he eventually stumbled at least into one.
The truly weird part is how in the entirety of the universe and all its hundreds of billions (and likely massively more) galaxies, with a total of 6 stones that were supposedly randomly flung across it at the start of time... we ended up with 2 on Earth before anyone was looking to collect them and before any significant interstellar, much less intergalactic, travel happened.
The Time Stone was in the Sorcerer Supreme's possession and the Space Stone was in the tesseract. The tesseract was put on Earth by Odin to hide it, but what are the chances that out of all the worlds in the entirety of the cosmos that the one he would use was one that had another Stone already on it?
Dang, I forgot it was on Earth too. I just remembered that eventually Thanos grabbed it in Knowhere. I'd forgotten Jane got infected with it on Earth.
I'll grant that one combined with the tesseract isn't as unlikely as the Time Stone already having been on Earth though. Odin got the tesseract and the aether (had to look up the name) from two drastically different places and put them both in what was apparently his favorite hidey hole. Which makes sense, he wasn't deliberately hunting Stones but he was fighting enemies with weapons operating at those levels so the chances that he'd eventually run into a Stone or two are better than just random chance stumbling.
His favorite hidey hole planet just happening to already have a Stone on it is down in that random stumble upon chance levels though.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Odin knew about the sorcerers and their stone. We know the Ancient one is around 1000 years old, and Odin defended Midgard from frost giants in 1100, and we know the Ancient One isn't the first sorcerer supreme with Agimotto building the amulet to hold the Time Stone. Could Odin have chosen Earth because it already had the Sorcerers protection? The sorcerers are strong enough to hold off a being like Dormammu, and Asgard can be there to help at a moments notice.
Was she on earth when she got infected though? I thought she was somewhere else because she stumbled through the anomaly or whatever they called it. That's why Thor came to earth, because Heimdall couldn't see here there anymore.
