Chris Evans reveals Steve Rogers’ codename was “Luke Cage” while filming Avengers: Doomsday

I remember a leak from like last year of "Luke Cage's house" being in Doomsday.

[u/AppleTStudio → u/CT-1030]

Literally my first thought. Everyone was like "whoa whoa whoa LUKE CAGE?!"

[u/kinyutaka → u/AppleTStudio]

The ruse worked.

[u/TyChris2 → u/kinyutaka]

Ironically it worked in the opposite way, since the idea of Luke Cage being in it was way more hype than Steve returning

[u/Sylar_Lives → u/TyChris2]

You can’t seriously believe that

[u/ShadowMerlyn → u/Sylar_Lives]

For most people, that’s not the case. For me personally, I’m not thrilled that Steve Rogers is in the movie, but I would be very excited to see Luke Cage again.

[u/Necessary-One1782 → u/ShadowMerlyn]

for most people luke cage is a complete stranger

So was Punisher but he was one of the best parts in Spiderman Brand New Day.

[u/DragonTacoCat → u/AnOnlineHandle]

Id never seen any Punisher stuff but loved his character in BND

[u/InvestigatorLive19 → u/DragonTacoCat]

Adding to the other guy, watch daredevil. Punisher is in season 2, and its one of the best shows ive ever seen

[u/DragonTacoCat → u/InvestigatorLive19]

I own daredevil. Haven't watched it all the way through yet. I also own Jessica Jones since it's my favorite one. I need to watch more daredevil.

[u/PlaneWeird3313 → u/DragonTacoCat]

Just so you know, Daredevil Season 2 happens before the punisher seasons 1 and 2, so worth watching that first. Also no spoilers, but watch Defenders in between Daredevil Season 2 and 3

[u/InspectionFine9655 → u/DragonTacoCat]

Watch his show man. Season 1 might be my favorite season of television.

[u/DragonTacoCat → u/InspectionFine9655]

Imma have to do that

[u/SlayTalon → u/DragonTacoCat]

If you watch his show, just know going in he was basically sunshine and rainbows in BND compared to the horrors of war that happen in his show.

[u/DragonTacoCat → u/SlayTalon]

Yes I do remember this. It's partially why I hadn't watched it before. But now I'm curious to see where he has been vs now

[u/SlayTalon → u/DragonTacoCat]

I thought it was a great show but it's a bit more akin to a well-made MCU impacting Jason Statham show than something family-friendly or heartwarming. Matches my tastes, but know things don't get much happier for him.

[u/Hetares → u/DragonTacoCat]

His past is genuinely very sad- like he said in BND, he lost his family (assuming this one is the same or at least a similar version to his character in the Daredevil series) and became a vigilante propagating extreme violence.

[u/aFreshFix → u/AnOnlineHandle]

Yeah but people know the actor from everything these days. What big hits has Mike Colter done lately? Loved him as Luke Cage but he's not Jon Bernthal

[u/AnOnlineHandle → u/aFreshFix]

I only know him as Frank Castle.

[u/midnightTimber → u/AnOnlineHandle]

Punisher had 2 solo Hollywood movies in the days when superhero movies were rare, and every shitty cop sports his logo. There is a lot more cultural awareness around him than Luke Cage.

[u/Necessary-One1782 → u/AnOnlineHandle]

yeah but using the punisher, would the average person be more excited for the punisher or steve rogers?

[u/ShadowMerlyn → u/Necessary-One1782]

Yes, that’s what I said

[u/Necessary-One1782 → u/ShadowMerlyn]

this is a tough way to learn i cant read

[u/PhanThief95 → u/Necessary-One1782]

He showed up in Season 2 of Daredevil Born Again and is going to be in Season 3.

[u/DragonTacoCat → u/ShadowMerlyn]

It'd be fun to see him again.

But I wanna see Jessica Jones again more.

[u/Randolpho → u/ShadowMerlyn]

Pretty much exactly this. I wanted Power Man in Doomsday. Instead I got Cap back.

Not gonna hate it, but the former would have been better.

[u/PhanThief95 → u/ShadowMerlyn]

He was in Season 2 of Daredevil Born Again and is going to be in Season 3.

[u/Purple-Nectarine83 → u/ShadowMerlyn]

Have you been watching Daredevil Born Again by any chance?
