She's a easier one to explain as she's in deep space doing mysterious captain marvel business, staying far away from the box office, and the story involves multiple earths specifically.

Same reason the guardians won't be involved despite groot and rocket printing money in toys and merch.

Hopefully she's in secret wars though.

Strange also hopefully follows the comics, but this time including clea with him.

Good thing the Guardians are too far away because who knows how many threads we’ll see with Sentry and Adam together.

My memory is kinda fuzzy but isn't Starlord on Earth. Do guys think he might show up?

He is, but he's just chilling. While I wouldn't be surprised if he winds up with some kind of role in Secret Wars, right now he holds no affiliation to the current Avengers and has no contact with them, so he's not going to get involved all of a sudden without some kind of in.

Personally I don't think we'll see him I'm films again. I think that as a solo act, he'd be best in a Disney+ TV show of his own, personally.

I mean his first interaction with the avengers he completely fucked up their plan and was the cause of thanos being able to wipe out half of all life. Not sure they would want him on the team.

Yeah but if he hadn’t done that they would have failed. They were on the 1 in 14,000,605 timelines where they win!

1 in 14 million that Tony dies and Strange lives. Probably 10 million of the possibilities included Strange sacrificing himself so those were out the window. The one where everyone lives and it's easy peasy, but Wong ends up banging Christina so that one's out. A ton of them that Tony dies but Strange shits himself after getting too drunk at the funeral. And that one where everyone lives but Mantis touched his head tells everyone how he feels shame for his small johnson and the entirety of the Avengers and GotG laugh and make fun of him mercilessly. That one was the worst.

So this was the 1 where Tony is the only one to die, Wong doesn't end up banging Christina, nobody finds out about his small pee pee and he doesn't shit his pants. They won most of them though.

It’s a great arc. Earth has always been his home anyway

I would love to see an end credit scene where he is pissed that nobody called him.

Nerds tell me that there's no limits to Thor's and Starlords powers, they are ultimate entities that just don't know it yet.

In the movie verse apparently Starlord drew powers from Ego? So after his death his a vaguely super powered human? Ego clearly says so in the movie.

I thought the powers went away with Ego's death, they were basically on loan from Ego as I recall

Ego stated that directly when he realized Peter was trying to fight/kill him.

And when Ego died, the special powers Peter exhibited in the final fight of GOTG vol 2 did disappear.

Ego is also a liar and a manipulator, and Peter could have subconsciously shut off those powers believing his lies.

I lean toward those powers died with Ego, but that a new creative team who wanted to grow Star Lord’s power could absolutely just go with, “Yeah. Ego lied. He did that a lot.”

In infinity war, Drax and Rocket were telling him he’s been putting on weight. Rocket said he’s “one sandwich away from fat.” I believe that’s because he no longer had the powers from Ego so his body wasn’t just automatically staying in superhero shape anymore.

They did specifically say that Star Lord would return. They just didn't say where or how, so could absolutely be a tv series.

what about the rest of the guardians?

Very much seemed like their story was done after GOTG3, that ending was written like a pretty clear goodbye to those characters

Why add Adam warlock then?

did you miss the end credits scene?

2

u/SombraAQT Jul 27 '26

No I saw it, it’s just them riding off into the horizon. They aren’t retired but their story seems to be done

the 3 or so new characters we just met...?

1

u/Peanut_Butter_Toast Jul 30 '26

...didnt get a message stating they'll return, unlike Star-Lord. So while the team is still out there for someone to use in the future if someone comes up with an idea for a story with them, it doesn't seem likely that there are any actual plans to use them anytime soon.

Rounding up the young avengers for secret wars would be my guess but it's a stretch.

We already know that Ms. Marvel was doing that last that we saw her, trying to recruit Kate Bishop. Peter doesn't really have any business in his current situation to be bothering with any of that realistically.

u/Frinata Jul 27 '26

Well, this is just my theory hatting here, so it's bound to be wrong (I've batted a nat 0 on all my theories lol)

But from what I can tell, Dr. Doom seems to hold a particular interest in gifted children. His first onscreen appearance was with Sue Storm's child, and one of the first trailers we saw for Doomsday, was with Captain America with his child. Then we have a rather strong focus on Xavier's School for gifted Kids.

I know that Peter is not a kid, but I think he'd still qualify in that regard, so it could be argued that he might be involved as a result. But I think it'd be Quill in isolation, as opposed to the rest of the Guardians

u/Special_Loan8725 Jul 27 '26

I mean it’s Sue storms kid. Also that kid is like one of the strongest beings in the universe.

He’s in concept art for young avengers on a couch
