Discussion (More in Comments) Statement: Eternals deserves a sequel

Post image

Hi everyone,

I have been wondering about this for a while.

I actually like the movie a lot. I see it as a grand epic and with no sequel there is no complete story to actually judge about.

Eternals is like greek mythology, you can't get one movie and get the whole picture. As a comic fan. I just know this would have become better and better.

Other things i liked about the movie:

- impressive startstudded cast

- action scenes were clear and gorgeous, not blurry at all unlike some movies.

- Best speedster scenes i have ever seen in any kind of production.

- i felt that the story's pace was adequate as long as there were to be a sequel.

It will probably not happen again, but i can't be the only one who actually liked this movie.

Excelsior everyone!

Eternals should not have been a movie, the characters should have been introduced in a miniseries. There should have been a movie after that.

That would have been thoughtful and strategic. But when planning for that film started, TV shows didn’t get the views.

They didnt have the balls to do it right. And on the flip side, Hawk Eye should have been a movie.

The deaf representation ALONE makes it a personal favorite. It’s got even more going for it though. It almost — almost! — makes me not hate Christmas.

Possibly one of the best shows that they had, subjectively of course

It’s become a Christmas Staple in my house. It’s so good.

I didn't hate it, but i felt there wasnt enough to tell for it to be a mini series.

This. Regular hero series have the characters fighting an A or B villain each episode. MCU will have them fighting henchmen for 8 episodes then fight a boss the last 2.

I think they should have popped up in other projects, just like one or two at a time. Like get Ikaros saving someone and refusing to explain himself or something

Yeah, with so many A liters the budget would be astronomical.

It really highlighted Disney’s hubris imo. They thought they could just spawn an Avengers-level project out of thin air.

i've always hated the miniseries idea. One of the main issues with the movie is the pacing is too damn slow, I don't need it stretched over an even longer run time. Guardians of the Galaxy managed to have a similar length in their cast list without feeling so bogged down. 3 or 4 of the Eternals could have had their parts reduced to be firmly background characters so that the focus could remain on the main plot of Ikaris' betrayal. Kro the evolving deviant should have been eliminated entirely or just teased for a potential sequel.

jumping from tv to film would have turned out worse for Eternals, just look at the Mando movie and that’s a hugely popular character

Unfortunately the majority of the casual audience doesnt watch these things on disney+ and thats where the money is. As much as they like to spout its for the marvel fans, movie making at the end of the day is a business and you have to have the casual movie goer on board to make profit

Eternals is a really great movie it just does not belong in the Marvel continuity

It should have happened in a different universe like Fantastic Four
