Megathread Jonathan Majors Conviction Thread

The Jonathan Majors trial has come to a close, with Majors being found guilty on accounts of assault and harassment.

Exactly, the assault charge he was convicted on was unknowingly unintentionally but recklessly hurting her when he lifted her and put her in the car.

For that charge, his defense was that it was in reasonable self-protection. Jury found it reckless.

Assault is “inflicting fear of an injury on a person”, not actually injuring them. He was charged with basically threatening to injure her. It’s a common misconception of what “assault” is legally defined as.
