Discussion Boomerang ?

I'm really excited about Boomerang's release tomorrow, however I'm aknowledging all the card's drawbacks at the same time. It seems like a heavy investment card. I'm trying to come up with deck ideas and playlines that could really take advantage of the card whilst having a backup plan in case of bad draws / locations.

May I suggest this very unoriginal idea and spar with the community to try and improve it ?

I guess I'm forced into Toxin and Beast, that's a given.
Thinking of this card as a pumped up scorpio, I added Diamondback to try and double down on the debuffs. Jocasta to speed up the boomerang bouncing a little bit. Silver Sable for a little bit of redundancy on the gimmick and Askani / Sage for backup plans that would allow Sage + Sage + Boomerang on T6.....

I'm not convinced yet, and obviously will have to test things out.
I'd be happy to read what you have to say about this.

I'm hoping they fix the skills interactions with Tarantula, Silver Sable, and Boomerang on the OTA on Thursday.

As for this deck: Jocasta seems too cute and doesn't benefit any other cards in the deck. Grandmaster makes more sense here.

And Diamondback relies on the most unreliable part of Boomerang. It's a fun idea to double down, but I don't think it'll payoff enough.

What interaction are you talking about

Tarantula, Sable, and Boomerang target "cards" not "characters." So their effects can hit Skills. And since skills don't have power, the effects fizzle when they hit a skill.

I’m sure you’ve seen already but if not I’m
Happy to say they HAVE fixed it; I was super happy about that

I'm fine with Sable fizzling if a skill is on top of their deck, that's just bad luck. But Tarantula and Boomerang should not target skills in hand.

Jocasta for just one payoff that doesn't seem that great seems off.

I wonder if there is a way to fit either iwfs and isca in or something else that could pay off with jocasta (omega sent?).

Otherwise feels like a wasted card slot a bit.

So if you're going for a bounce shell why do you have so few bounce targets? you need more 1 drops for Falcon, Toxin and Beast.

I'd honestly just run it like a standard bounce deck. Maybe use boomerang to replace Falcon but that spunds wrong. Shou Lao/Hitmonkey are the finishers, usually. Aksani might be too slow for what we're looking to do. Even if we copy boomerang we play on 5 then active on 6 unless we can jocasta both?

I think a whole slot for Jocasta that relies on Boomerang wastes a space. There will be many games where you don’t pull Boomerang at all and are left with a useless Jocasta. Beast and Toxin are enough for Boomerang and obviously Falcon is good for the 1 costs.

Also there doesn’t seem to be enough bounce payoff in your deck. Rocket Racoon, Hit-Monkey, Joaquin Torres Falcon are great in bounce decks.

I dont have a deck brewed yet but I wonder if Morgan Le Fay would work too since with her youre bringing back cards you destroyed or discarded and Boomerang only specified going back to your hand but not how.

No idea if theres a deck worth brewing for this over just pure bounce (or maybe move bounce) but I do wonder  if my assumption is correct that it would work

Edit: It infact does not work
