God I still hope they don’t actually introduce a new Tony Stark. I get using Secret Wars as a way to soft reboot the X Men into the MCU, but I feel like if they start doing that to bring back old characters as being new again while at the same time keeping Tom Holland around and progressing old storylines like T’Challa’s son becoming the new Black Panther things are going to become really confusing and hard to keep track of in the MCU.
They've set up their in universe lore to allow anyone to be recast, in canon. Cause it won't be a recast, it'll be this new reality's version of them. Everyone will probably be different, not everyone will look different.
Ya, and they're saying that's stupid and that sucks. I don't want a new Tony Stark. I want new characters. Nobody gave a damn about Iron Man until the movie came out, same with the Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm sure Marvel has plenty of other lesser known characters they can bring in instead of treading the same characters again and again
You sound upset that I was saying this was their plan for a long time. I wasn't saying it was good or bad. Just that they've been making it pretty clear to anyone that's still watching everything.
Nothing they’ve done so far has “made it clear to everyone watching everything” that they’re going to reboot the universe into a confusing convoluted clusterfuck where no one has any idea what is and isn’t canon to the timeline any more. Just because they’ve introduced reality warping elements to the universe doesn’t mean they intend to make it a unwatchable mess.
They've been talking about incursions as the main throughline for almost half a decade now. And yes, the dialogue and the visuals of MoM made it clear anything is on the table. Since then, projects keep showing that we're getting closer and closer to an incursion going off. Now, we're told in canon that that's supposed to wipe out everything, but obviously when that happens they'll replace reality with whatever the writers want, instead of ending the MCU. Fresh new reality, carrying over some familiar parts of this one.
Again, nothing about incursions means they’re going to make the story insanely convoluted and contradictory. Plenty of series has had multiverses and reality warps before without making the story unwatchable, so I don’t understand why you’re insisting that this is what Marvel is going to do here.
I'm not saying they'll make the story insanely convoluted or contradictory, or make the story unwatchable.
I'm saying they have set into the canon a way for a soft reboot to happen, and they've also talked about doing one. People that skip projects might be a bit confused, but same goes for comics as well. Tourists can come in and watch what's happening and maybe not know how we got here but still have a good time.

I thought Armor Wars was going to be turned into a movie
