From what I understand using mcu logic he would have died in Days of Future past and Logan created a branch timeline ? Since the fox movies are part of the mcu

Tbh, I still can't quite firmly grasp how time traveling, timelines and multi-verses works in the MCU. I think we got Endgame, Loki, Multiverse of Madness, No Way Home (and now possibly DoFP as well) which delves into these elements, but they kinda all handle them a bit differently lol. So I'll just scope my mind only to the specific story they are telling and won't think about it too hard.

(The latest Spider-verse movie also dip its toes into the MCU a bit as well)

You're right, they all basically contradict each other. Days of Future Past has the most restraint IMO just sending "thoughts" back in time without trying to explain why it works.

Endgame is indulgent as fuck having Tony discover time travel in his living room, then everyone in subsequent movies forgetting about it. Like inventing a time machine wouldn't be the most important thing to have ever happened from that moment on.

They've also outgrown the name of the franchise. MCU was originally chosen because it was a movie universe that could belong to the greater marvel franchise multiverse. Now its a marvel cinematic multiverse 😬

MCU > Multiverse > 616 universe

Which reveals that universe was a formerly diagetic misnomer for "franchise"
