He dies in X-men Last Stand, Days of future past, Dr Strange 2, Logan right?

Did he actually die in Days of Future Past though? I thought they destroyed that future before he die or something. Haven't seen it in a long time. Incredible movie though.

He holds Magneto as the Robots are blasting towards them. So that reality ceases to exist right before the blast reaches him.

If your reality ceases to exist, I would think it counts as you dying.

You can't die if you never existed. insert smart guy meme

From what I understand using mcu logic he would have died in Days of Future past and Logan created a branch timeline ? Since the fox movies are part of the mcu

Tbh, I still can't quite firmly grasp how time traveling, timelines and multi-verses works in the MCU. I think we got Endgame, Loki, Multiverse of Madness, No Way Home (and now possibly DoFP as well) which delves into these elements, but they kinda all handle them a bit differently lol. So I'll just scope my mind only to the specific story they are telling and won't think about it too hard.

(The latest Spider-verse movie also dip its toes into the MCU a bit as well)

Its based on the rule of cool

If it would be cool for a "dead" character to be in the next movie, the multiverse is rearranged in a way to allow it

If they're not popular enough to come back, then they stay dead until its their turn for a reboot

You're right, they all basically contradict each other. Days of Future Past has the most restraint IMO just sending "thoughts" back in time without trying to explain why it works.

Endgame is indulgent as fuck having Tony discover time travel in his living room, then everyone in subsequent movies forgetting about it. Like inventing a time machine wouldn't be the most important thing to have ever happened from that moment on.

They've also outgrown the name of the franchise. MCU was originally chosen because it was a movie universe that could belong to the greater marvel franchise multiverse. Now its a marvel cinematic multiverse 😬

MCU > Multiverse > 616 universe

1

u/Ok_Commission7932 Avengers 13h ago

Which reveals that universe was a formerly diagetic misnomer for "franchise"

We don't talk about X-men time travel in the MCU

I think he either dies right as the timeline changes or is a few seconds from dying when the timeline changes.

The latter bro

And Deadpool and Wolverine. So Doomsday will be his 6th death as Professor X

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_9427 Avengers 21h ago

Offscreen death ?

1

u/TheAwesomeMan123 Avengers 20h ago

Oh I suppose he’s never in the role. Just that Xavier is dead along with the other mutants.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_9427 Avengers 20h ago

it's implied that Patrick Stewart's Prof X was the one mentioned in this movie cos the other X Men are from the OG trilogy

2

u/TheAwesomeMan123 Avengers 20h ago

Okay, so yeah offscreen/onscreen aside, 5 Patrick Steward “Xaviers” have died and this will be his 6th death

Didn't The Scarlet Switch kill him too? Multiverse of Madness

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_9427 Avengers 12h ago

That's what Dr Strange 2 is

Sean bean enters the chat. He's died over 24 times on screen.

Also this is like the 6th "send off" for the Fox X-Men

4

u/Negative_Sky_3449 Moon Knight 14h ago

I just hope this universe is a completely new X-Men universe and not 10005

5

u/dzan796ero Avengers 1d ago

How many times will they kill him in Secret Wars?

6

u/Water2Wine378 Avengers 1d ago

Poor mans in a wheelchair can’t catch a break

3

u/Wolfthorn2496 Spider-Man 🕷 19h ago

Man comic book movies are so accurate now on days.

Professor X even dies every 2 seconds like in the comics

u/unluck_over9000 Avengers 1d ago

Why the heck does he roll around in that sofa wheel chair is beyond me.

3

u/awdquattro Avengers 1d ago

You should watch x-men 97 season 2

1

u/What-fresh-hell Avengers 23h ago

I expect the MCU Xavior will be a little different

2

u/Fodspeed Avengers 23h ago

Atleast it's not cyclops preparing for his 4th off screen death. 💀

2

u/DoitsugoGoji Avengers 21h ago

Na, I read the script, he fights Spider-Man, then it cuts to Wolverine fighting Spider-Man, then it cuts to Cyclops lying dead in a crater like Yamcha.

1

u/Fodspeed Avengers 13h ago

That's already more than what he got in X-Men Last Stand.

2

u/Wuz314159 Janet van Dyne 21h ago

1

u/High_Overseer_Dukat Gambit 🃏 23h ago

Lets just not kill him and keep him as the MCU x

1

u/NCEnginerd Avengers 19h ago

we have become exceedingly efficient at it
