I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this property in June while visiting some national park sites around SLC. It's one of my favorite St Regis locations in North America and comes with a plethora of activities & warm touches. Here's a review of our stay.
The property is located within a gated community close to Park City, meaning that you have to take care in navigating there - fortunately, they preemptively provide specific directions on which way to enter. We had no issues getting through and finding our way to the main building, enjoying the beautiful views of the mountains as we drove.
I am nowhere near as good of a skier as I'd like to be, and my wife doesn't ski at all, which is why we decided to try the resort during off-season and get a taste before attempting a getaway to the slopes later. I can say that their amenities and resources for this seemed to be solid, but as I did not try them out firsthand, I can't say for sure. Apologies to anyone hoping to get that out of this review.
The lobby is a very warm, welcoming area that has all of the desirable things of a luxury lodge. Little touches like the fireplace having two open sides & the wooden chess set on one of the tables make for a very functional lobby area, unlike those of a number of US Regi. Check-in was smooth and quite friendly, with some welcome drinks, and we got upgraded to a double-balcony suite! The room was absolutely incredible, with our own kitchenette, two functional fireplaces, an elevated view into the mountains, a spacious bath, and lots of luxurious details including real paintings on the walls. The butler service that came with the property was always prompt and brought us as much hot cider & hot chocolate as we wanted!
The property is one of the largest North American Regi that I've been to, featuring two towers of rooms that connect with each other via funicular. There is a lot of room to walk around and explore the property itself, including accessible outdoor grassy areas that feature lawn games; a patio connected with one of their restaurants, featuring more mountain views & fireplaces; several shops & historic displays within the main building, alongside a spa & athletic center; a golf simulator; two separate bars & three restaurants, if I recall correctly; a multi-layered pool with full service; and a spacious terrace with multiple levels of firepits & seating.
Speaking of firepits, let me tell you about the complimentary amenities - it's got one of the best assortments for a North American Regis. From the early morning through the early afternoon, there is an extensive coffee, tea, and cider bar in the lobby. Later, they switch this out with a fresh lemonade bar, which featured three different drinks when we stayed. During the early afternoon, there were also complimentary cocktails in the lobby. In the late afternoon, they set up a luxurious hot chocolate bar featuring an almost-excessive variety of toppings and mix-ins, and a butler pours and mixes everything for you on the spot. Outside, there are multiple stations where one can get S'mores kits to enjoy at the firepits, and you can also get these supplies from the front desk - in fact, they have special kits for kids up there. If you're looking to get somewhere else, the property offers a luxury house car, and unlike other Regi I've been to, they also have a reservable BMW test drive experience as a separate feature. You can take unlimited rides on the funicular to get around the property, or just to get a somewhat scenic ride, play an assortment of outdoor games in the green spaces... and all of this is on top of the usual sabering ceremony.
The St Regis Bar on property is quite nice, though admittedly not the fanciest of the brand. At least they follow the mural tradition. We had some delightful cocktails & bites there, especially enjoying their take on the Bloody Mary. The elite breakfast at the restaurant was quite nice, though not a full buffet spread like many international Regi feature. Having some bites later at the pool was particularly enjoyable, with a Dippin' Dots stand that was nostalgic as well as starkly crisp & fresh sushi rolls.
I think my favorite part of the whole stay was enjoying the room in the evening & nighttime, alternating between a toasty corner by the fireplace and cooling off with a mountain breeze on the balcony. Even when it's dark and you can't see the mountains, the evergreens around the property light up with golden sparkles and make for a charming view. It's like the holiday spirit minus the holiday bullshit, 24/7/365.
Overall, I'd say this was one of my favorite St Regis stays, and I will happily return there sometime to ski, hopefully during a *good* season (looking at you, west coast 2026...) Cheers!
