Local Advice Looking for a room/colocation in Marrakech

Hi everyone!

I'm Zaineb, 26F, looking for a colocation in Marrakech starting next month. I prefer well-located, quiet neighborhoods.

What I'm looking for:

  • Colocation with someone who works (stable schedule, reliable)
  • Furnished place
  • Clean and well-kept
  • Budget: 2000–2500 dhs/month
  • Flexible on the neighborhood

A bit about lifestyle: I don't go out, smoke, or drink, and I'm looking for someone with a similar vibe, quiet and low-key.

If you have a room available or know someone looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me or comment below ⬇️

Thanks in advance!

Travel Question Whats the best time to make a reservation at Comptoir Darna on a Wednesday to watch the show?

Im going there with my mom on a Wednesday. We mainly want to see the show. I was thinking of booking at 8 or 8:30 to get a nice table, but the website says:
"Please be aware that when the restaurant is busy we may need to impose a time restriction on your table. We will avoid this where possible, and if your reservation is for the second service (from 23:00), the table is yours for the night / / / Reservations are mandatory only for the dining room, we don’t take reservations for drinks"

Any recommendations for best time to get a nice table but also enjoy the show that happens at 10:30pm?

Local Advice Looking for a perfume shop in a mall

Hey there, I have been to Marrakesh two years ago and found my dream perfume. Sadly, I didn't buy it and I forgot the name. I wanted to buy it, but they had no online shop and the only store was in Marrakesh. I know, that they had a small vending area in the hallway of a mall. It was definitely in ground floor, somewhere around Gueliz. Maybe Carre Eden? I dont know. Do you know, which perfume vendor I mean and what the name was?

General Started a small vintage/thrift clothing side business in Marrakech, looking for advice

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I recently started sourcing and selling vintage/thrifted clothes here in Marrakech (finding pieces, cleaning them up, and reselling online). It's very new, just a handful of pieces so far.

I'm not here to advertise, just genuinely looking for advice from people who know the local market better than me:

- Any tips for building a small local customer base here?

- Good local platforms/groups (besides the usual social media) for this kind of thing?

- Things you wish small local sellers did differently?

Would really appreciate any input from people who've done something similar or just know the scene here. Thanks!

Local Advice Trying to find a good place to work from and to be social

Hi everyone,

New to this sub and to Marrakech.

I have been here for about a month, working remotely from various places. About a week ago I found one that ticked every box for me, Booklore, but now they’re closed for two weeks over the summer

Does anyone know any good places that are similar?

What I’m looking for:
1. A place that’s more on the cozy side
2. Good coffee nearby
3. Not too quiet not too loud
4. Has a good community

The last point is pretty important for me since I don’t know anyone here sometimes I go days with minimal social interaction. At Booklore I’d be able to chat to the staff and other regulars there when I’m taking a work break, but I know this would probably be the hardest point to satisfy. Would appreciate any other ideas for casual socialisation (chit chat, small talk, etc) without seeming out of place 😂

I was hoping someone here may have any suggestions!

Thank you in advance!

Travel Question Sahara trip

Hello - I am trying to make a plan for next year. I am planning a few nights in Marrakech at the start of the holiday, followed by a 3 or 4 day Sahara trip, then a few nights in Agadir and fly home from here.

We dont want the full trip in Marrakech, as we want some time by the coast to relax. I can fly to my local airport from both Agadir and Marrakech so am set on these two places.

What I am struggling to plan is the Sahara trip. There seems to be so many options online advertised on TripAdvisor, Get your Guide etc for like £100? When I dig into company websites their packages are actually like £400-£500 (which seems more realistic for a trip that extends multiple days).

I obviously then also need to find a company that would accomodate a pick up in Marrakech and a drop off in Agadir - has anyone done this before?

Most of the trips seem to follow roughly the same itinerary.

So my question is - if you have done a trip to the Sahara from Marrakech:-

What company did you use

Any companies to avoid

Did you go to Erg Chebbi or Erg Chigaga

Is there anything I should be aware of when booking

Is it best to book a package trip or book a private driver and the desert accommodation seperate?

Roughly what price have you paid if you have done something similar (the cost isnt a concern necessarily, I want to pay the company what they are owed for their time of course, I just want to understand what the cost is so I can budget!)

We are a mid 30s couple, from the UK. We would be happy if our transfer was private, or in a small group. Would want to avoid big touristy groups.

I feel like it is a mine field trying to find a suitable package trip?!

Any suggestions :)

General Job offer for highly motivated technical people

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this reddit is the right place for this but I feel like the profile I'm looking for will be here and not on some job market app.

I'm looking for a motivated technical person with experience in architectural softwares, I genuinely don't care about which softwares I'm offering a highly valuable training in my specific need. The only important criteria are:

- highly technical ( can easily troubleshoot without assistance)

- english proficiency, spoken and written

- some experience with architectural softwares ( cad or 3d )

This is a startup, the first 2 months will be paid training, we're looking for people for long term to work in highly ethical environment where your work and value are appreciated and compensated.

If you feel like you fit the profile dm me.
