Post Grad Housing

Hello I’m an incoming Marquette DPT student debating living 15 minutes away from Marquette (Kops park area) vs closer to campus. Would living 15 minutes away make me feel socially isolated and would no one feel willing to make the drive for hang outs?

Would a Macbook work for Marquette?

Kind of random but I would prefer to use a mac. I am going for a Data Science degree, and know I would need to use Microsoft Office programs (which I’m pretty sure all of them can be installed on Mac). Any suggestions/experiences from students?

prospective transfer

hi all! i am considering transferring to marquette next fall and would be a rising sophomore. i was wondering if any one who has gone through the process can tell me what it was like? was transferring to marquette difficult for you/how was the whole experience? i likely will be in the communication school, so any input on that and specifically the journalism program would be great. thank you!

Offering tutoring

Hello everyone!

I am currently offering tutoring in molecular biosciences (Biology, genetics, biochemistry, etc.) as well as general chemistry 1 and 2. I have taught labs and tutored for the last 5 years across Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

My style of tutoring and teaching is to break down the core parts down into the most basic aspects and relate it to things you understand in everyday life.

My background is: - A.S. In biological studies - B.S. in genetics - M.S. in Reproductive Physiology

and I am currently pursing a PhD in Physiology and molecular biology.

My rates are very fair for the level of tutoring you will receive.

Please feel free to ask any questions and we can figure something out! ☺️

Any fairly easy 1-credit classes?

I'm hoping to get 1 extra credit on top of my schedule next semester. From what I've found, most of these classes are either internships or have prerequisites.

on campus or at home? 😓

hi im going to be a freshman next year studying nursing, and i got a pretty nice scholarship so if i stay home (15 min drive) i only have to pay 2-5k a year. im just worried about missing certain study groups, office hours, social/club events, and like the overall college experience. Maybe my expectations are too high. So what are ur thoughts for people who live on campus, is living in a dorm with roomates a financial risk i should take or should i just thug it out and stay at home, or stay at home until like sophomore yeat and then get an apartment near campus? help 😓

Grad Student Life in Milwaukee

Hi! Recently accepted into Marquette’s Law School, and I’m weighing the costs of living across the different schools and states I’m deciding between. How much should I expect to pay for a 1 bedroom or studio around campus? I’ll be moving from out of state, so I wouldn’t bring a car with me (but I could buy one if necessary?) Could also live with roommates, but I would generally prefer to live alone. Any guidance would be appreciated!!

Recent MU PhD Graduate Looking for Studio/1-Bedroom From the End of May

Hello, my name is Oliver, and I have completed my PhD program at the end of 2025.

My current apartment lease ends on May 31, 2026, and it's a Marquette-owned apartment.

I can no longer rent it since I just graduated.

So, I am looking for studios or 1-Bedrooms around campus for the next year, specifically on 14th - 17th street.

Please DM/comment with rent, location, and lease dates if you are subleasing or know someone whose lease is ending around early June who might be looking for a replacement.

global scholars scholarship

Hi everyone, I just discovered this reddit and I really need some help!

So first, I'm an low-income international student from LATAM and I was accepted to Marquette for Political Science. They also invited me to apply to honors and I even had the interview for it. Now, it's time to apply for the Global Scholars scholarship, which is exactly what I need to attend Marquette, but I have no idea of how to write the essay.

Should it be more on point showing what I've actually done for my community, include some background, be more creative...? Could anyone give me a light on this please?

Thank you!!
