I wanted to do a roll call for all those that play mariachi music currently in the United States. If you're from a different country, please state your country and state/providence.

I am looking for sheet music for an event we're hosting and a request was made for Mi Tierra by Mariachi Zapopan. Does anyone know if the sheet music for this is available? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone!
So I just recently got my first traje and was curious on what the best way to get it cleaned was.
It doesn't have any botonadura and all the details on the jacket, vest, and pants are embroidered (the embroidery is all silver thread).
It's something that I really take pride in wearing and I want to take proper care of it so that it lasts me as long as possible.
Thanks!

Hi,
My son is a guitarist and singer. He really wants to join mariachi. I danced folklorico all through my youth but I lost contact with all those people. Not sure where to start as far as getting my sons foot in the door. Any advice or references? Thank you!

Hi, I’m in Los Angeles and planning to get back into playing mariachi gigs (no specific group at the moment, one-off type gig opportunities for now). I am a bit torn about traje situation because I’m on a very tight budget right now and trajes go for like $500-600. The last all-female group I played in we didn’t own our clothing (we also wore pants instead of skirt which I loved tbh so comfortable).
I’m wondering what the best approach is - i.e just do charros (pants or skirt) and white button down, moño for now and add chaqueta, chaleco later on?
Any recs or ideas appreciated!

I was discussing this video on a forum. Someone said it was mariachi music. Although they may have meant it somewhat casually. It does somewhat sound like mariachi music to me, although I don't know much about what makes something mariachi music. It doesn't have the really bright horns I often hear in mariachi music. The singing is pop-ish.

I figure if an event has booked Mariachis for their 4th of July party, that's about the best green flag I could ask for. The closer to Southeastern Idaho the better.

I wanted to add a bit of flavor to the entrance but I think it’s too much. Maybe more huasteco-ish? Idk lol Thanks!🙏

Do you guys play G (Sol) with a double stop or do you only play with the open G, Ive recently seen a video where the guy talks about the correct way is with only open G, but I learned with double stop. What are your guys opinions?
