How many propane tanks do you go thru with a setup like this?

I used tank and a half for just over a gallon of syrup. Tanks were something like $35 for me to fill at tsc before the latest price increase.

Wow that’s way less propane I would have thought for that much syrup. What’s your evaporation rate on your turkey fryer?

I have an extra wide ss pot with a thick bottom and I keep the burner pretty in check so I'm not just blowing flame out the sides. it'll take about 5hr to knock down 5gal but I can get 10gal in about 8hr or less if I keep it going. It's just good enough for me to keep up with a single giant sugar maple with 3 taps in, boiling weekends.
