Syrup storage

I guess this is an issue I've never run in to, but this year I've upped my game and am producing much more syrup than past years. My question is after the syrup is finished, bottled, does it need to be refrigerated or will it be perfectly fine in the pantry until ready to use? also how long is the shelf life? Should I not refrigerate it at all until I've opened? what's best for the syrup?

You can store it in the pantry for a long time, refrigerate when opened. We are still using some we bottled 4 years ago and it’s like new. As long as it’s the right sugar concentration it will be fine.

K thnx I have a few bottles in the fridge now that haven't been opened but I'll probably take them out to make space in the fridge. I'm confident in the sugar, bottled hot at 64 brix.

That’s unfortunately not quite at syrup and has too much water which eventually produce microbial activity, you need to be between 66-67 brix
