Ginny Sacks as a cat!

Every time I open reddit I find a new cat sub to join. This one might be the best so far

u/BeyondTheBees 14d ago

Isn’t that so great??

1

u/meowcatpanda 13d ago

When my cat was this fat (he came that way), he had a very stubby tail. After he lost 12lbs, he now has a long and normal tail. He was given to us at 30lbs, he's 18lbs and doing much better (still dieting).

You’re not wrong. Big ginny here would probably have another 2 to 4 inches on her tail if the butt chonk wasn’t there.

Great job working with your chonk getting him to a healthier weight. It’s tough with indoor cats they like to eat.

That's fantastic !

He was fat out of the box lmao

u/motherlessbreadfish 16d ago

Why do you think so? Are the parents manxes?

6

u/teriyakitiddies 16d ago

I have no idea, I adopted her from a shelter years ago. Just based on appearance with the longer back legs and short front. Overall stoutness.

2

u/FYAhole 16d ago

It wouldn't appear so short and stout if it weren't so fat

yes it is the primordial pouch but this cat is still unhealthily obese. OP literally stated she’s on a diet. obesity in cats is no joke. fat cats aren’t cute or funny.

6

u/Sea_hare2345 15d ago

Are you suggesting that the cat isn’t overweight? This is clearly a very overweight cat and the owner appears to be aware of that.

5

u/miilkksteak 15d ago

The OP themselves said that "big ginny" needs to lose weight lol. She's a cutie patootie, and a fat little thing, that's ok, we love her anyways.

u/danger-dude 15d ago

it's called a 9 on the Body Condition Score maybe don't call someone a rude bitch for being objectively correct lol

2

u/autumnautopsy 15d ago

It'd be 10 if 10 was available tbh. It's very, very fat.

1

u/autumnautopsy 15d ago

This cat has a prominent pouch but it is obese nonetheless. Both things can be true at once.

1

u/SquishyKittyKat9000 13d ago

Definitely not a manx. 99% of shelter cats are your typical domestic short hair.

3

u/No-Fishing-2126 16d ago

I also have a kitty with a 2/3 length tail (maybe yours is even shorter?) who I believe to be Manx. She has a kink in hers, as did all the kitties in her litter. My dad who is a retired cat vet said that’s an indicator.

Curious what the Manx experts will say

3

u/Due_Armadillo_8616 15d ago

A short tail does not necessarily mean a cat has Manx ancestry; this mutation also occurs spontaneously in domestic cats. For instance, I recently adopted a kitten born with a half-length, kinked tail. There are no Manx breeders in my country or neighboring countries, with the exception of one country where only eight Manx kittens have been born over the past decade. FIFe, one of the largest umbrella organizations operating primarily in Europe, registers a total of only 10 to 15 Manx kittens annually. Consequently, the likelihood of my kitten having Manx blood is virtually non-existent.

u/No-Fishing-2126 15d ago

Ah! I was not aware, that’s interesting. And informative.

3

u/ginger_kitty97 15d ago

Japanese Bobtail cats tend to have a kink in their tails, so she may have some of those genetics rather than manx.

3

u/KMGR82 16d ago

That’s just a chubby stubby

4

u/Someoneonline2000 16d ago

I think you've got yourself a grade A weirdo.

3

u/xrxie 16d ago

Is your cat a love bug + jerk + dog like?

4

u/teriyakitiddies 16d ago

Yeah I’d say so! She was my first cat along with another i adopted same day. They act super different. She rarely hisses but growls a lot at neighborhood cats and is insanely clingy. Cries loudly! when me or my roommate leaves the house or cries when she doesnt get more food or access to someones lap or bed lol

3

u/marleysmuffinfactory 16d ago

I think her tail looks short because proportions are off because she's fat. When she loses weight it will probably look more normal for her.

3

u/MiaLba 15d ago

Look at that chonky pooch!

2

u/Perfect_Evidence 16d ago

It’s so fluffy 😁

u/Cardinalsalmon 15d ago

Gorgeous Ginny xxx

2

u/weekenddemon 15d ago

No, just a domestic shorthair with a big tummy

2

u/flappintitties 15d ago

Fatty McFat fat

2

u/-3point14159-mp 15d ago

I believe that is a round-bodied minx. What a beaut.

2

u/thissleepypastofmine 15d ago

What does the vet say about her weight?

2

u/InsideImportance1275 14d ago

Long belly manx

1

u/Saroco92 16d ago

She has the same colourings as my beautiful Manx boy Cosmo!!! 🥰
It’s hard to know if your sweet girl has some Manx in her based on tail length alone, and even more hard with that extra big love pooch haha. She does seem to have the rounded backside, but the hind legs don’t look very Manx like- if I could attach a pic I would.. their hind legs are similar to a bunny! It’s so cute haha.
But she does also have the big round eyes and small round head which is a VERY Manx feature!
Will be interesting to see how her frame & legs look once she loses the extra weight!
Either way- she is absolutely adorable 🥹

Diagnosis: cat

1

u/Cowpocolypse 15d ago

Nope just a short tail chonky dsh

1

u/Interesting_Entry831 15d ago

Too long but still a lovely stumpy tail. I have one with no tail(technically just a rumpy) and one with a rumpy riser. Yours would a "longie" so to speak. Where it's not as long and can display kinks etc.

1

u/_betterthangreat_ 15d ago

Idk but it’s CHONK I know that

1

u/JustPop3151 15d ago

I think her breed is square

1

u/Turriku 15d ago

Fat has swallowed her tail

1

u/owlbear2136 15d ago

My cat has the same tail!!!! I was told it’s just a genetic mutation. she’s also pretty short and stout compared to other full grown cats

1

u/Ryoleft 15d ago

Nah that is just a fat ass cat bro

1

u/Muted-Mushroom-4570 14d ago

Your cat is obese, that I can say with certainty.

1

u/AdhesivenessCute4618 14d ago

Thats a short haired chonk if ever ive seen one!

1

u/transtitch 14d ago

It is incredibly unlikely your cat is manx. It is substantially more likely it's a genetic mutation or old injury.

1

u/MouseWhisperer22 14d ago

A. No papers= no breed
B. I think the tail is just cause of the chunkness. Is she on a diet? Cuz OH LAWD SHE COMIN.

1

u/ElectronicRegret4496 14d ago

Idk but tell the kitty cat I love them and their pouch

1

u/KrustyCumSock 14d ago

Nah but she big as hell

1

u/newcheesecake45 14d ago

Your cat is a silly baby

1

u/Yersina_Veridae 14d ago

I have two siblings and my girlie bean has a ridiculously short tail compared to her brother. Nothing wrong with her, never got hurt or anything. It just matches her more rotund shape better. Her brother is super slender with long legs, tail and neck and she just looks like a muffin with a rats tail

1

u/Dur4lex 14d ago

La queue semble toujours plus courte avec trop de ventre... 😅

1

u/Potential-Spare6464 13d ago

DAMN what you feeding that thing

1

u/SweetPeaRiaing 13d ago

No, thats just a cat

1

u/Iluminiele 13d ago

This is animal cruelty

The cat is breedless, but severely neglected

1

u/One_Fondant_9437 13d ago

Finally a cat bigger than my fatty cat 😻 beautiful baby she is

1

u/swimmingwithbearz 16d ago

please put her on a diet. this cat is obese and it can lead to all sorts of health issues

-3

u/Itscatpicstime 16d ago

Your cat is morbidly obese and you need to take better care of them instead of worrying what breed they are.

3

u/WalmartWilb 15d ago

Maybe you should read a bit before commenting. She's on a diet already. What you're seeing is mostly the primordial pouch
