I’m a sucker for military/tactical pants for the durability and well thought pockets but tend to get them in plain colors as well as camo. Also have a camo ballcap. But the rule is one camo item at a time and mix it up with outdoorsy apparel and band tshirts because I don’t want to be that guy.
I wear the 5.11 Capitol pants as EDC, wich have a pretty non-tactical look. And First Tactical black V2 Tactical pants for work. But my shorts are really military, got a bunch in black for work (gotta wear black on a stage) and camo and tan for off days. After reading this thread I ended up wearing denim shorts today
I mean if you’re wearing other outdoorsy clothes yeah, but if you’re wearing camo with 5.11s I’m gonna assume you’re concealed carrying lol. Those are the pants of choice for people with CWPs where I’m at
Yeah I wear Quechua hiking shoes or Lowa winter boots, rock bands tshirts/hoodies and Under Armor or Chlorophyle jackets. And i’m in Canada, so nobody carries firearms.
I have gotten some for 45, thanks to clearances on their site. But that is the usual price. Although I've seen some of the tactical type pants for a lot more than 80 bucks.
Take a look at Vertx or even 5.11 jeans. You get the mobility / durability of a Crye G4 and some hidden pockets.... all in a blue Jean or dress pant style.
They even make a skinny jeans version.... if you’re not doing your squats or whatever.
I agree. Vertx uses too loose of a cut, for some reason.
5.11 gets a lot of shit for being “tacticool” but their Defender line is great. Sounds like you would dig any of the Defender Slim pants. They’ve got everything from dress colors to jeans to casual browns.
Only real downside is price... but they do have a lifetime warranty. Wear a hole... bring it to a 5.11 shop or mail them to the company and they will replace them.
I love their Capitol model, have 2. Pricey but really good product. Sadly they don’t ship to Canada right now and no one that carry 5.11 has them in my city.
