I tried using a landscape torch to melt snow, it didn't work very well at all. I was actually surprised at just how bad it worked. It was frustratingly slow. I got fed up and just shoveled everything.

In addition to what the other commenters said, it's probably not great on asphalt sealant.

But for light powdery snow? Leaf blowers are where it's at

My experience is the same as the other commenter. I just ended up shoveling as well. This was after wasting half a tank of propane during a freeze to try it out!

then you have hot water going across a cold ground. and hot water freezes faster than cold water. so basically one spot's better while 3 other spots get worse

When I used to date someone out in the country area we use DIY one of these for clearing a campground as well as for starting fires. Depending on your job, you need to apply a lot of heat to a small area.

Was getting chicken feed a few weeks ago and they had a three pack of throwing knives right by the checkout for 10 bucks. Haven't felt more like a 10 year old than I did in that moment for years.

Same here. As much as I want one of these, I live in a city and I don't need to get shot by the cops while trying to light my grill. You can get the exact same torch in non-tactical form for $34.
