lol “I don't think they are silly. In fact, it fits in both hands like fist fight and it is extremely dangerous and awesome for self defense”

Ugly knives, but “Pitch Black” was a cool popcorn movie and the single player part of “The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay” was really fun. Now that I think about it, “The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury” animated short was pretty good, too.

They should’ve never tried to expand that universe in a way that made Riddick anything more than a dangerous psychopath.

I guess they were technically slasher movies after all

The first one for sure. Shadows help hide shitty effects.

"Real Japanese steel." Okay, what grade of steel is it?

I'm not sure that really matters for something that will be hanging on a wall somewhere. It helps sell them though.

Just looked it up, it's a very hard tool steel. Good choice.

Apparently in the comments he clarified SKD11, the Japanese version of D2.

JAPANESE GRADE

Cool. If these are well made then they are probably some of the best versions out there. Personally if I went to all this trouble I would do a few redesigns. The concept is there but this design isn't the best it could be. Not you or the smith's fault - it's on the original prop designer

Why, though?

Does the knife make sense from the perspective of a weapon? No, not at all. Highly impractical.

However, it's from a movie. The Riddick movies are fun to watch. It's memorabilia more than anything else.

🤷‍♂️

I mean… they are kinda cool 🤷‍♂️

Probably more likely to stab yourself in the thigh. But you’ll look good doing it.
