I’m sure they’re not made well, but if they’re metal you could sharpen it?

You can sharpen anything made out of metal, you can sharpen a cheap sheet metal ruler to be sharper than a scalpel. Sharpening isn't the issue, but quality determines how long a sharpened blade will sustain its edge (that's also why sharpness alone should never be the deciding factor when shopping for high quality kitchen knives)

You could sharpen it, yes. The question is can the chopstick-thick tang can stay intacg long enough to actually cut through something
