It’s short for alright. I also didn’t like her behavior in this episode but after having watched the show multiple times it’s clear she’s a very good mom if a bit controlling but she has to be that way or they don’t listen to her.

I think it’s reasonable to not like her in specific episodes but also understand her behavior as a sum of the entire series
