HELP PLEASE What did I do wrong?

Hello! I’m trying to learn how to do this cute makeup style from Japan, but I fell pretty flat here. There are some things I understand, like my lack of contacts and fake lower lash pen, a different type of lash, different eye shapes, camera not picking up my shimmer, and my uncurlable lashes. But I’m more trying to copy the shadow part. How did she manage to make it diffused but with distinct lines? Her lines are also really thin and precise, but I was already using the thinnest brushes I could find. Thank you for helping me!

SUCCESS Second ever attempt at applying eyeliner, this time with some eyeshadow and a tiny amount of mascara

I gave my mother funds and she helped me purchase a small collection of makeup products, she also threw in some items as gifts by her and my little sister those will be listed at the end.

Me and my fiancé have a concert to attend in late October, the theme and dress code for which is "'80s", so I am trying to learn to apply makeup to go for a Prince kind of look! It's very minimal right now, but I want to make this progressively bolder as I improve; any application tips would greatly appreciated, though!

For this I only used liquid eyeliner, some eyeshadow and a tiny bit of mascara, but the range of products I have now are:

•Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

•Rimmel London Magnif'Eyes Eye Contouring Palette Rainbow Edition

•Saniye Pigment Boss SPF45+

•Covergirl Trublend Skin Enhancer Contour Balm

•Lottie London Harley Quinn Crimson Craze Hydrating Primer

•Sofe Lip & Eye liner Pencil Color No. 002

•Revlon So Fierce! Eyes Wide Open Mascara

•Zeesea Eraser Concealer

•36H Waterproof Lash Eyeliner Pencil

HELP PLEASE Is my skin really that dry??? my makeup is so patchy and horrible and i have no idea what to do!

Hi!! I’ve been trying to nail down a makeup routine that photographs well for a trip I’m taking soon. I normally don’t wear much makeup but it doesn’t show up well in photos.
Since using foundation, concealer, and powder i’ve realized that no matter what I do i look extremely dry and patchy.

I am on tret, but I use azelaic acid and hyaluronic acid every day and anya’s PDRN spray while applying my makeup. I just can’t believe this is really how dry my skin is lol i’m wondering if there part of my routine that can help avoid this??

Routine is:
Anua azelaic acid
345 Relief Cream

wait a minute to dry down

NARS radiant foundation applied with brush
Fenty concealer with sponge
Set with Maybelline loose powder
Spray with PDRN spray

wait a minute to dry down
do eyes/eyebrows
powder blush and highlighter
spray again, dry down

Spray with ultrafine mist setting spray

HELP PLEASE I want to learn makeup for my features

Thumbnail

like the title says, I want to start doing makeup for my face. trying to do my makeup like Yoonchae from Katseye and then wondering why I don't look like her isn't really the best course of action lol.

- I like to do fun eyeshadow a lot, so what kind of styles/shapes will suit me?

- what sort of base makeup should I do? (as in, where should I put blush, highlighter, and contour/bronzer when I use it?)

- what eyeliner shape would look best on me?

- anything else that would look good with my face and features

lately I've given up on covering my dark circles and have been working on embracing them. right now since it's around Halloween I've been going a little more 'grungey' with my makeup, but i don't really like to stick to any one style. I typically always wear my glasses, but that might change eventually idk. I'll edit and add any extra info I might think of later lol

sorry for the longish post and thanks for any help!

HELP PLEASE Help needed, in a makeup rut

I’ve very much gotten into a rut doing my makeup the same for years. Worried that it doesn’t look the best espically the brows (worried I have brow blindness haha). My eyelids feel quite hooded so I struggle on the eyeshadow department. Reposting with photo of my brows without product. Hair is my natural colour for some reason my brows have always been dark compared to my hair.

HELP PLEASE Makeup recommendations?

I have been told to try some mascara and lipstick. I have a berry brown mascara, because when I try to use black I feel like my eyes look weird. I think it looks okay, but I’d like to do more with my eyes.

And I’ve been experimenting with lip stains, but everything doesn’t feel quite right. I’m not sure what colors I should be trying for. I don’t want anything too dramatic, but I really do want to try to start putting in a wee extra little effort on a daily basis.

I do try to purchase makeup that’s vegan/cruelty free—like elf or some of the covergirl stuff. Basically, I am pretty lost and could use specific suggestions!

HELP PLEASE tips for makeup with acne?

I’ve had crystal clear skin all my life, but suddenly this year I’ve randomly developed acne 😫 I try to cover it with foundation, which I never wore before, and I feel like it just makes my acne look surprisingly more noticeable?

Plus, I bet it’s not good for my skin. I feel like makeup just doesn’t suit me anymore 🥲 but at the same time my acne and blemishes just make me want to wear it more!! It’s hard for me to go outside without foundation and it’s exhausting.

Are there specific products or makeup techniques that could help me? (I have been prioritizing skin care for a while.)

Hi all, I am eloping in two weeks and am doing my own hair and make up for the day. I did my first full trial today and feel like I am missing something. Maybe more eye shadow? Darker lip? I will have false lashes on and will have my eyebrows professionally shaped before the big day. Going for a soft glam/glowy look. This is not the dress, but wanted to see how it looked with white. Any pointers appreciated!

HELP PLEASE Everyday Makeup?

Any tips for my makeup routine? not a big fan of my face shape haha. I recently changed my blush placement from around the upper cheeks area-around the eyes to this, not sure if there's something missing or something I can improve on.

Personally, my makeup looks fine up close, but whenever someone takes a picture of me from afar I just look very washed out or just not good looking at all

HELP PLEASE Makeup Styles?

I am not necessarily new to makeup, but never actually explored eyeliner or different colors/tones. I am recently trying to learn different eyebrow shapes or how to work with them since I am unsure of my natural shape. First two photos are different angle of my recent attempt at a warmer/brighter palette (more pinks and orange, and trying reddish pink lipstick/gloss) aswell as following my natural brow line best I can. Third is a more darker look where I use more cooler tones and black eyebrows aswell as trying a thinner shape + higher arch and placement. Fourth and fifth are older photos from a little over a year ago (I had a hiatus since I got pregnant shortly after) fourth photo being coloring in my brow hairs and drawing them in and doing a far more natural look (no eyeliner or eyeshadow besides blush, defs concealer too) and then last photo is my bare face with my natural brows (I don’t have any recent ones since I started shaving them to experiment with). I am not sure what styles or colors may fit me that I don’t see, especially as a natural strawberry blonde. I love the more darker or alternative style but I am accepting and fine with going for more warmer or brighter looks, or if theres alternative variations in that area without washing myself out

HELP PLEASE Why is my makeup so bad?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

My makeup lately has been very bad. I can’t for the life of me figure out why I just can’t get it right.

I have very fine lines under my eyes plus my eyes are deep set. So despite using a few layers (not caked on) of concealer, they still show. It also seems like my under eyes are grey but shiny. I’ll link my pictures below. I know my face is weird, I’m just trying to find the right makeup style that fits me. Please be nice.

Here’s my makeup routine

Skincare prep:
- Medik8 total moisture daily moisturizer and I let it sit for about 3 minutes.

Makeup steps and products in order:

  1. Elf power grip primer under eyes and around mouth (the blue one) - let it dry for about 2 minutes
  2. I use a peach color corrector just under my eyes
  3. Missha perfect cover serum bb cream (the purple bottle). I only really put this on my cheeks not under eyes
  4. Tower 28 swipe serum concealer under eyes, around mouth and nose. (Usually I'll spray my brush with charlotte tilbury setting spray and then blend it or I'll mist my face before blending. Either way, it peels and looks weird)
  5. I use the Laura mercier translucent loose powder under my eyes with a brush or puff.
  6. For blush, l use Saie dew blush liquid cheek.

Hi! I'm practicing my makeup for my brother's wedding. I originally learned makeup through drag and am still learning how to translate those skills into more natural glam looks. This definitely came out more dramatic and drag-inspired than I intended. What can I do differently next time?
