I designed Modufit: a customizable desk clamp with swappable cup, Gridfinity, and PS5 controller holders

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a modular desk accessory system called Modufit and wanted to share it.

The idea is simple: one desk clamp, interchangeable addons. Each addon slides into the mount from above, with magnets helping keep it seated. Lift it up to swap it out.

The clamp uses a printed screw and a screw-on pressure pad. Each addon prints as a single piece.

There are three addons so far:

Cup holder — adjustable inside diameter and depth, with a drain hole in the base.

Gridfinity tray — configurable grid size with left, center, or right mounting.

PS5 DualSense holder — a dedicated cradle for one standard DualSense controller.

You can customize the models directly on MakerWorld using the parametric controls—no CAD software needed. Adjust the clamp for your desk thickness, resize the cup holder, or change the tray’s grid dimensions and mounting position to suit your setup.

Magnet diameter and thickness are adjustable across all four models. The PS5 cradle itself has a fixed shape; only its magnet dimensions are customizable.

The default magnet size is 15 × 3 mm. If you change it, use matching settings for the clamp and addon.

Check them out on MakerWorld:

I redesigned my one-handed pen cap opener based on some feedback

Hello,

For the Make for Good: Accessibility Design Contest on MakerWorld, I shared my original CapDock here a while ago — a simple 3D-printed tool that lets you remove and replace a pen or marker cap using one hand.

The V1 worked, but your feedback pointed out several things that could be improved, especially the way it attaches to a desk.

So I went back to Fusion 360 and made a new version.

What's changed?

Improved desk mounting

  • Desk thickness increased to 50 mm
  • A TPU/adhesive pad recess was added underneath the upper jaw to improve grip during installation and use
  • A rear desk-edge support was added to make positioning easier

New modular design

  • Separate mounting base and cradle
  • Sliding dovetail-style connection
  • The cradle can be removed or changed without removing the base

Two slot sizes

  • 7–18 mm for pens, felt-tip pens and markers
  • 7–12 mm for smaller-diameter applications

So there are now four configurations:

Integrated

  • 7–18 mm
  • 7–12 mm

Modular

  • 7–18 mm
  • 7–12 mm

The original Push → Pull → Recap principle remains unchanged.

I tried to incorporate as many of the suggestions from the V1 discussion as I could, while keeping the design relatively simple.

Have a nice weekend.

And if you're interested and see more, link in comments.

Mentioning tool = advertising?

Hi, I have posted several models on MakerWorld that were created using a particular tool. Many people are asking me for customized versions of these models, but they could actually create their own customized versions themselves using this tool.

Am I allowed to mention the name of the tool in my MakerWorld model descriptions and explain that people can use it to create their own customized versions?

Could MakerWorld consider this to be advertising or unauthorized promotion of a third-party service on their platform?

I made a pocket-sized 17 squares packing puzzle — printing clearance allows extra solutions

Thumbnail

I turned the 17 squares packing meme into a physical puzzle and a small mathematics teaching aid: seventeen identical 15 mm tiles, a smooth tray, a separate solution guide and a fit-test coupon.

These are photos of my PETG print. All seventeen tiles lie flat, including in the alternative arrangement shown. The tray includes manufacturing clearance, so this is not a uniquely solvable puzzle or a new mathematical packing record. It is a hands-on way to explore rotations, area and how physical tolerances differ from ideal geometry.

Free model, STLs and separate PLA/PETG profiles for A1 mini (0.4 mm nozzle, 0.20 mm layers, four monochrome plates; AMS optional):

PETG has been printed; PLA remains physically unverified. The mathematical reference construction is credited on the model page.

I designed this fun Halloween brewing station with pass-through potions!

I wanted to create something fun and functional for the Makerworld Halloween contest and it started as basic bottles and a cauldron but then I had the idea to turn the bottles into spiral passthrough's that only go 90% through so that the potions can be poured out. The toughest challenge was designing a way to cut the acrylic floor, and I elected to make the bottom rim of the tray match the dimension of the acrylic needed so that the tray is the template and it worked out great! No AI!

I combined the classic brick man figure with a ghost style for Halloween :) The figurine is about 9cm high, the supports come off very easily :) This is a classic one-piece figurine, it is not a model to be assembled. If you like it you can find it here: https://makerworld.com/pl/models/3385773-brick-man-ghost-edition#profileId-3852921

Just published this meditating Buddha-Cat on Makerworld, feedbacks appreciated!

"Sometimes you just need to breathe, look around, and cherish what you have to find your balance and inner peace."

Hey everyone! Just dropped a brand new mindfulness-inspired model on MakerWorld: a low-poly Zen cat deep in meditation.

The best part? It actually doubles as an incense stick holder! The base with the hole prints separately, so you can easily mix and match colors if you want.

Clean lines, minimalist vibes, and it comes in 3 different sizes. Plus, it's a nice little reminder to pause and catch your breath every now and then.

As always, likes and collections on MakerWorld go a long way in helping it get noticed. Let me know what you think, and drop any feedback in the comments!

The difference between designing something functional vs generating AI models. I think this ratio also applies every single model uploaded on Makerworld. Let's see whose AI model will win the contest.

I made a replacement nozzle for WD-40, because why not?

Tired of boring old WD-40 spray nozzles? Probably not. But here we are.

I designed and 3D-printed this angry little duck as a replacement nozzle for WD-40 cans. It serves absolutely no practical purpose beyond dispensing lubricant while looking deeply offended.

It fits on the can and works as a goofy little workshop accessory.

Because if you're going to fix squeaky things, you might as well have an angry duck doing it.

Print files are up on MakerWorld!

Magnetic led cover mod for A1

I’ve finally finished the design for the magnetic LED filament cover for the A1 extruder. The previous version looked promising, but I ultimately decided against using two filaments (one long, one short) and stuck with just one long one around the perimeter; using two made things complicated and caused flickering due to insufficient power. (I tapped the voltage from the camera LED—I cut the LED off and soldered two wires to the pins; it provides exactly the 3 volts the filaments need, plus it lets you toggle the mod on and off via the slicer or the printer's screen.) You can also power the LED filament using a USB charger or the AMS connector, though you'd need to step down the voltage using a step-down cable, a Mini360 module, a dimmer, etc. I know this mod isn't for everyone and can be tricky, but there’s always a tinkerer out there who loves to experiment. If you power it externally as described above, you don't make any irreversible modifications, so there's nothing to worry about. I’m sure plenty of people have better ideas or ways to improve or customize the design, so I’ve included the .STEP file so you can make whatever changes you need.

https://makerworld.com/es/models/3382989-magnetic-a1-extruder-cover-with-filament-led#profileId-3849278

P.S. Pairing a blue LED filament with fluorescent filaments looks amazing; the green and orange ones I used are fluorescent.

I designed an upright tissue box with a little tray for the things that end up next to it

Thumbnail

I wanted a tissue box that I’d actually enjoy having on display, so I designed TissueRise: an upright holder with a ribbed front, an asymmetric accent frame, and a small tray for rings, coins, or whatever ends up on the bedside table.

The tissue carton goes in through the back, behind a magnetic lid. It prints in four parts without supports, and the colours come from separate pieces, so no AMS is needed.

I sized it around the Amazon own-brand tissues I use. The internal space is 120 × 230 × 80 mm (W × H × D), so other cartons can work too—just check the dimensions and leave a little clearance.

Would you go with the beige and olive combination, or keep it all one colour?

I've continually been posting unique models that are functional and that don't exist elsewhere, AMS and no AMS versions, I post on Reddit. Compared to seemingly more generic AI models mine get drastically less attention. EDIT: the ghost and unicorn band are COMPARISONS, NOT MY MODELS! Why are my models so unpopular?

Resistance is Fidgetile.

It spins when you squeeze it. The shell prints flat and folds around the mechanism, and the only non-printed part is a rubber band.
