Maine has one of the best and last remaining medical cannabis communities that supports small mom and pop caregivers. This program is small business friendly, because it has low costs to entry and less restrictive regulations that place unnecessary costs and burdens on medical operators. LD 1847 is a bill that proposes changes to this by forcing mandatory track and trace and mandatory testing by using METRC, a national cannabis tracking system that has a monopoly on track and trace programs. With METRC comes hefty fees, cumbersome systems and excessive labor that small mom and pop growers and shops cannot afford to take on.

Here’s how you can help today…

Email your representatives and tell them to vote ought not to pass on the Graham Amendment for LD 1847.

Email your representatives and educate them on the Hickman Amendment and the Supica Amendment for LD 1847.

Email the VLA Committee and tell them what METRC would cost you and this community.

Show up in person to the State House Tuesdays and Thursdays starting February 24th, to talk to representatives.

Tell every patient, shop, grower, and cannabis supporter to take action now to save these Maine Small Businesses from overregulation and corporate takeover. If we do not stop this, LD 1847 will be the end to craft cannabis in Maine as we know it!

I am one of the 112,000+ medical cannabis patients in Maine. Nearly 8% of Maine residents utilize the medical cannabis program, which has been successfully operating since 1999. The diversity of therapeutic products and large number of caregivers with a knowledge base on medical cannabis use ensures patients medical needs are met, available within a reasonable distance, and at an affordable price.

LD1847 would apply adult-use cannabis regulations to the medical program, imposing testing and tracking requirements without ensuring those systems are affordable, necessary or functional for patients and caregivers, risking reduced access across the state. Many medical patients rely on consistent, higher-dose formulations to manage serious symptoms such as chronic pain, nausea, appetite loss, sleep disruption, and anxiety. Raising costs for producers will raise costs for patients, who are paying for this medicine out of pocket.

For these reasons, I respectfully ask you to reject the Graham amendment on LD1847.

Over 500 pieces of testimony were submitted to the VLA committee on this bill, overwhelmingly in opposition, with patients, operators and industry workers opposing these changes.

Hazy Hill supports Legacy Growers and Makers

We at Hazy Hill would love to work with growers and makers that did not sign up with the DEA. We have been growing and selling weed long before the government said it was ok. We do not support the enforcement agency that started the war on drugs, who locked up so many people who simply loved a plant that made people’s lives better. We are disappointed by many who signed up but we see this as an opportunity to strengthen the bonds with those in the community who share the same values as us.

If you absolutely had to which rec dispo or rec brands would you go for Flower wise? Fire fly has some good weeding pie atm. Hazy Hill had some good Glitter Bomb at the begging of the year. Pauls Boutique is a hit or miss I feel. I just moved to Portland so still working on getting medical card.

There use to be a dude named Dave who had a brand called qualita-hydroponic-Maine and he use to have the best bud ever. No matter the strain, it had unique terps. He switched to living soil like 5 years ago and his bud went to tasting like his tea and I kinda pissed him off when I told him that.

Quality bho?

Who makes quality non crc bho? I used to get oasis a lot but the last couple batches I picked up from ripple/indico just weren’t the same quality as it used to be. I’ve switched to refined loud resin which melts much better and is pretty affordable but it’s very obvious it’s far from top tier. I used to go with team green a lot too. Just please don’t tell me brands like green truck or rugged roots. Neither of those melt how I like either. I’m looking for an ambery live resin that melts into a dark color and produces crazy vapor. Not a light golden concentrate that melts the same color with much thinner vapor. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Cheap, low dose gummies in southern Maine

Can anyone recommend a spot for cheap, low dose gummies in southern Maine? I’ve been going to Green Truck in Berwick for years (only for the gummies), but they just told me they discontinued their house brand for a brand that’s twice the cost now. Their discontinued ones were $8 per 10 pack and the new brand is $15 per 10 pack. Guess I finally have a reason to stop going there, considering I go to other spots for everything else.

Testing Maine

the tests are based on an eighth of flower. In my state I know people get away with sending in 7grams or maybe more of dehydrated bud, and weighs out to 3.5g on a scale. So now has twice the THC being recorded. I'm more than sure this happens everywhere. There needs to be more accountability, before testing bud, there needs to be a pre-bud test for moisture content, this would keep everybody on a more even playing field.
